Technology and brain farts

So, I regularly try to check the fluids in my BMWs. I have 2. A 2004 E46 330Ci and a 2016 F82 M4. I checked the 330Ci first. All looked well and I topped up the washer fluid reservoir. Next up, check the M4. I checked the coolant, both the radiator and the intercooler coolant. All looked well. BRIEFLY thought of looking for the engine oil dipstick then immediately remembered that was an iDrive test. Ok. So, while I'm in here before I do the iDrive oil quantity test let me check the power steering fluid level. Looking in engine bay my next thought was "Now where the hell did BMW hide that reservoir?", "I'm pretty sure the test its not on the iDrive menu", "Hmm, have I EVER checked it in this car", "You mean to tell me you've owned the car for 3 years and NEVER checked the power steering fluid?", "and you call yourself a DIYer" "smh" "where the hell is it again?"

This went on for almost 2 mins of me staring into the engine bay then the light finally came on

Then I started to wonder if similar "farts" happen to others or just me. Any similar stories?

Pretty sure there's an alert for all of those if you have any issues.

Someone should really post a step by step guide on checking the power steering fluid. Could really save people a lot of time apparently.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but there is no power steering pump with fluid on the F8X cars M3 and M4, it's now electric assist located with the steering assembly, down low in the front.
