m4 gts midpipe same as MPE midpipe

Wondering if anyone has some knowledge about the MPE vs M4 GTS midpipe. From appearances they look identical, however the BMW part number is different for each midpipe.

Has anyone actually tried to swap the mufflers between pipes to check if they are compatible?

Thanks,
Steve

All factory F80/82 exhaust will swap in the same spots using the same mounts...stock, Sport (ZCP/CS), MPE or GTS.

GTS is MPE with fat single wall polished tips welded on (no track debris).

So help us understand. What doesn't swap? You can see tons of pix with the different kits mounted on the same chassis.

not mix and match, u can't use the GTS/ MPE mid pipes and join to stock/ ZCP exhaust without cutting and welding/ clamping.

stock exhaust is one whole piece to the downpipe joints.

GTS/ MPE is only until the secondary cats, where you still have to cut and use the clamps/ joiners that come with the MPE

Thanks E92. You're right, not mix and match. I forgot about the slip joints on the center pipe section of MPE.

Update:

Was just at Kies talking with Bryan. The GTS is a full exhaust from the cat flange all the way back, the only bolt-on pieces being the included rear section and couplers. He showed me a pic of a "real GTS" (taken off an OEM GTS) next to a MPE. There is also the GT4 exhaust, which is like the GTS but without the rear section muffler (straight piped).

The MPE kit does have the slip joints like you stated, for attaching to a cutoff flange.

Now question is the GTS midpipe titanium because MPE is not (only muffler)?
