F82 Seatbelt Difficulties

Hey so I don't know about any of you but I find it very annoying that the seatbelt is so far back. Has anyone found a way to put one of those holders that hand you it when you start your car or no?

There's a hook on the top/side of your seat that you can hook it into so you don't have to reach so far back.

Is that just on M4 because of getting into and out of rear seat?

It's on my M4 and it's to hook the seatbelt onto the seat so you don't have to reach all the way back. In lieu of the extender they have a hook.

No clue, don't own one. Sorry! Check your owner's manual. There's a section on it I believe.

I'm really going to miss the robotic arm handing me my seatbelt from my e92.

If I wanted to reach back and grab my own seatbelt I would have bought a Honda Accord

I won't miss it since they broke more often than not.

Its just a little clip that sticks out from the handle that you pull to push the seatback forward. Its stupid... you have to remember to put the seatbelt into the clip before you sit down.

Well, it's no more stupid than all the posts from people wishing BMW would add the 15lbs back and put the extenders back on even though they always broke and only worked 50% of the time anyway.

Driver side works 99% of the time for last 3 years, don't remember last time it failed.

Passenger side works probably 90% of the time. Failed to catch last week.

Looks like you've already chipped that plastic piece of crap. Why wouldn't they make that metal? In before someone makes an aftermarket version in carbon fiber.

Nope, not chipped. There's something on there, a drop of some kind. Definitely not a chip.

Metal would chafe the seatbelt way too much, the more flexible plastic is a much better option. Solves the problem for the people who are too portly to reach all the way back but doesn't add all that useless weight for no reason like the E9X did. Personally, I don't use it. Just put it in there for Lups to see. Like most people, she never knew it was there.

My extender stopped working around the 3yr mark and once it goes, it's just a useless moving part that BMW won't fix.

I'll test this the next time Peter gets out, thanks!

Now, next item to explain, why are people talking about shift lights? I picture them as annoying Christmas special effect, these are the things I refuse to google, since being in the dark lets my imagination have the room to play.

Set your HUD to M Display and then redline the car. You will see them on your windshield.

lol so the little dial on the hood is the so much talked over thingy. I'm disappointed. I hoped after all this talk it would be at least a fireworks special.

Why would anyone shift before red?

This is the price we pay for wanting a stylish two-door with a usable back seat. The clip is a good idea if you see yourself setting it up every time you leave your car. Then again, for the same amount of time and bother you can just reach behind and grab the effen thing. On the bright side, after a few years of this I'll earn a yoga degree.
