Sorry if this is total ignorance. But how is it even possible to spin the crank hub if you have both a crank bolt capture and a crank hub spline lock?
Super sorry to see this OP. Hopefully the fact that you have the engine pulled in your garage means you can fix this for substantially less than the stealership. I think you can get an entire engine for under 10k these days. |

I doubt that a pinned hub with a cbc is designed to also survive throwing a piston out of the block. |

Hmm could it be that pushing this engine ~40% over stock power on crap low octane fuel is perhaps a tad risky
It's just the risk we take when doing this. I don't think any tuning wizardry is going to eliminate the risk with this kind of power increase, only reduce it. But sorry to hear, engine failure isn't fun regardless, I know the pain and it's put me off doing this kind of modding again, you just lose so much time and money dealing with it |

Just need to look at another company constantly defending their products and actions on here from the endless barrage of attacks to know exactly why it's absolutely worthless to waste the energy. Not taking a side, just calling out the reality.

100000% I'm assuming the motor was not built. If that is the case, take your medicine and fix it! If you do the Turbos, Build the block!! Even without the turbos, full bolt on with meth/E 50-58,67 is already pushing it. It totally sucks when this happens to anyone!! But I don't want to hear the tune blah blah. It's your fault!!! Have the guy tune it to 85/90%. There is always a chance the tune could hurt the motor, DUH. But most people trust the same few guys to do it. If not them, WHO?

Not sure were all the aggro from some people is coming from. OP is just sharing his experience. No where do I see him blaming anyone or complaining about anything. Also, if it was bad gas isn't it a real possibility that it would have done damage to a built motor engine anyway?

I've been running a stage 2 vf engineering tune since 28,000miles... up to 90,000miles now, not one check engine light or code thrown..... CSF intercooler, titanium mpe exhaust with downpipe ,93 octane only...colder range plugs gapped at about 20...afe carbon intake...totally reliable, and i just had a straight up battle , 3 pulls against a 6 speed Camaro zl1 ( 30 , 40 , 50 mph ) rolls to about 140mph.... beat him by about a car and half each pull... not to mention the 2013 to 2015 ctsv , claiming 650 wheel that I've beaten too...( similar races )....just saying I'm fast and the setup is safe ...

It was i guess, ( the Camaro ).and he had more flywheel hp than me even if he is stock... i would guess I'm between 560 to 600 flywheel, being optimistic lol.... I'll take efficiency ( DCT trans ) over big hp numbers any day

Automatic ZL1 has an excellent trans. Just read up on it. Shifts as quick or quicker than our cars. |

Your correct! We do have good cars that when modded can hold their own! Comes down to driver! Enjoy your car, sounds like it’s been very good for you. You should be proud!
