Anyone have any idea on this - both times car has gone into limp mode, then restarted perfectly fine.
Hello, I've been brushing BM3 stg2 + for nearly 2 years. Recently, the transmission system fault occurred during rapid acceleration. It's the same as your fault code (1f0525). How did you solve it

BM3 constantly performs unlock

PTF, please get rid of the automatic unlock!!! Almost every time I try to change maps, BM3 performs the entire unlock process, even though my DME is already unlocked. Even when I am changing between PTF OTS maps. I always select the download now, flash later option (as you recommended), but this continues to happen. Why can't the unlock process just be a separate option, like it used to be???

Send them an email. When I flash it never tries to unlock...takes only one minute.

Yeah, maybe I’ll open another ticket for the issue. I submitted a ticket for it a little over a year ago and they said to download then flash; but that doesn’t seem to work.

I see the question is 2mo old but hope this helps others. When I fried my DME the guys at PTF were concerned that my new computer may be too new.

—-snip from Dzenan @PTF—-
1) Connect to the car, and send us a screenshot of bootmod3 obd agent, indicating software IDs, so we can check if bench-unlock is needed.
>I did this no problem, was unlocked<

2) Locate the DME inside the engine bay, and send us a photo of the sticker located on the side of the DME, so we can check the production date. DMEs produced after June 21st 2020 cannot be bench-unlocked.
>BMW installed before I could get a pic. Lucky step 1 was good.<
—-end snip—-

It seems if you can connect and read the software IDs you're probably already unlocked. My first flash did not require an unlock.

Quick question for the BM3 guru's:

Spend the $100 to swap over to Stage 2 E30 map? orrrrrrrrrrrr Use the FREE CS map paired with my JB4 on MAP7 to run e30/e50?

I feel both have a good advantage in their own way, obviously switching maps on bm3 will be easier in the future but having the obd to lighting cable is pretty simple.

I have 2 E85 stations near my home so getting E is not a problem, I just want to know if the $100 investment for the MAP is something I will feel compared to stage 2, some guys state its a cleaner power curve and others say they feel no difference.

Let me know your thoughts!

What manifold Boost PSI do you hit with CS+Map7? <<< Key Info needed

Why not free GTS plus Map7 E50?

Do you mix 93 or 91 with your E85?

Crank hub fix done?

Forgot about the GTS OTS, thats a better option and mixing in e50.

I run 93 with the E85. Prior to the BM3 i ran the JB4 map2 with E50 and the car ran strong, hated the CEL from the Downpipes so I switched to BM3.

Edit: Stock crank hub- 50K miles, downpipes, chargepipe, secondary cat delete, injen intake, NGK gapped plugs
Thinking having both would be fun to switch between running E and straight 93

With a stock crank hub you're playing with fire running E, since it yields more torque. I didn't run Stage 2 or any E mix until I got my hub fix and CBC on.

Makes sense and also makes me think if the difference is barley felt on the butt dyno then what’s it to me? This is my daily, not out roll racing or tracking it so maybe not worth it to push it to its CH limits.

Would be interested to just Dyno back to back again the stage 2 93 and see how much of a change there is!
Thanks for your input!

Does anybody have the old agent version download they can share? Preferably before the agent logo artwork was changed or perhaps 'improved'? I'm on old macosx and having difficulty with the connection ever since i updated from the previous 10.8 versions(I think?).

Wanted to try that route. Maybe it will work again?

I'm in the midst of taking the ECU off my 2020 M2. Everything has been going smoothly until getting the wiring harness plugs removed from the ECU. The first 3 were easy. I'm stuck with the cluster of 3 that are closest to the firewall. Any tips appreciated.
