MAD- Oil Cooler Guard S55 M2/M3/M4

Introducing the MAD BMW M3 M4 M2 S55 F80 F82 F87 Skid Plate

Upgrade your BMW's protection and performance with the new MAD Skid Plate, designed specifically for the M3, M4, and M2 models (S55 F80 F82 F87). This skid plate is engineered to provide unbeatable protection, ensuring your vehicle remains in pristine condition no matter where your adventures take you.

Why You Need an Oil Cooler Guard for Your S55 BMW M2, M3, and M4

Protecting your high-performance engine is crucial, and for owners of the S55 BMW M2, M3, and M4, an oil cooler guard is an essential upgrade. Here’s why:

1. Safeguard Your Investment: The S55 engine in your BMW M2, M3, or M4 is a masterpiece of engineering, designed for high performance and longevity. However, the oil cooler, positioned at the front of the vehicle, is vulnerable to damage from road debris, rocks, and other hazards. An oil cooler guard acts as a protective barrier, preventing costly damage and ensuring your engine stays in peak condition.

2. Maintain Optimal Performance: A damaged oil cooler can lead to overheating and reduced engine efficiency or even a blown motor. By installing an oil cooler guard, you ensure that the cooler remains intact and functions efficiently, maintaining the optimal temperature for your engine’s oil. This helps to preserve the engine’s performance, reliability, and longevity, especially during spirited driving or track days.

3. High-Quality Construction: Our oil cooler guard is crafted from robust, high-grade stainless steel materials that withstand the rigors of the road. Designed specifically for the S55 engine, it offers precise fitment and superior protection without compromising airflow or cooling efficiency.

4. Easy Installation: The oil cooler guard is designed for a straightforward installation process, making it a convenient upgrade for any BMW enthusiast. With all necessary hardware included, you can quickly enhance your vehicle’s protection without the need for extensive modifications.

5. Peace of Mind: Driving with the confidence that your engine is protected from unforeseen road hazards allows you to fully enjoy the performance capabilities of your BMW. An oil cooler guard provides peace of mind, knowing that your investment is shielded from potential damage.

Features:

-Premium Wrinkle Black Finish:

-Custom-fit for BMW S55 M2, M3, and M4 models

-Durable stainless steel construction for maximum protection

-Preserves airflow and cooling efficiency

-Easy, bolt-on installation - Includes all hardware - No DRILLING!

-Lifetime Assurance: Enjoy peace of mind with a lifetime warranty, guaranteeing that your MAD Skid Plate is built to last and withstand the test of time.

Ensure your BMW S55 engine remains protected and performs at its best with our premium oil cooler guard. It’s a small investment that offers substantial peace of mind and long-term benefits for your high-performance vehicle.

The factory CS lip has different mounting lower bumper points vs a regular M (base or Comp), it won't fit. Research CS lip on there and you'll see the mounting bracket in the middle needs a slot to fit and sides mounts under the car are also different. A while back when I acquired my car, I bought a Turner one and I wasn't aware of the mounting points on the lip. Guard didn't fit which is the same as your offering, some folks modify it to fit by cutting the needed slots.

Thanks for that info. I was just comparing it to this oem part since they seem to be identical.

Does this force air into the cooler like the stock one or is it just flat?

Put mine on today. Fit and finish was fine, I’d say 98%. Took a tiny bit of tweaking to get everything to line up, but nothing was so off that I had to bust out a drill. No instructions included, but it’s pretty straight forward swap. For the price, can’t beat it. Better protection than the stock plastic for sure, and it doesn’t break the bank.

Any oil cooler guard is better insurance than what is currently on the car from the factory. I'm currently running Tuner Motorsports Oil Cooler Guard. But if your concerned, then replace your plastic piece for an aluminum or steel piece. And have peace of mind.

Wow yours fit a lot better than mine did lol though I think I might've gotten an odd one out. The 4 holes towards the front didn't all line up for me, I could only get 2 bolts in, and with one of those the bumper just barely didn't clear enough. Actually had to drill that bigger

I do have the M performance carbon lip and even with the mounting piece removed I still had only 2 holes barely line up, no difference. To be honest I had to do extra work just to make it fit enough with my lip.

HOWEVER, for the price I don't mind. Still saved $200 which is worth the headache for me

Your oil cooler guard should have lined up, all the holes should have been drilled and in their proper place. I know for a fact the Turner Motorsports and several other reputable brands do. Please post what brand you purchased so that others can steer away from it.

The air does not enter from the bottom. The air is entering from the grill area and exiting out the bottom.

Probably the best insurance you can buy, because if you damage that oil cooler your car will go into heart failure. And that is the truth.

Had issues with mine too. Same holes. Only the 2nd one to the left and the far right fit perfectly. With my lip I had to get longer M6 bolts 30mm. My rivnuts/nutserts seemed all the way seated but when I went to tighten the bolts all the way 3 in the front started to spin. I decided to drill all of them out and go use m6 u clips.

For the price worth the trouble i guess lol
