I have PPF around the wheel arches and elsewhere that are turning black around the edges (photo attached). No matter how I scrub during a wash/wax session, I can't seem to get it clean.
What success have you had in fixing this issue? Thanks in advance for your help. |

I've found bamboo skewers to work quite effectively. Like these:

Any concern of scratching the paint or pushing the dirt further with skewers and toothpicks? Would be just my luck. What do you use as a lubricant for said picks and skewers? Chet's idea seems a little more foolproof, but any concern over using alcohol on the paint? |

alcohol kills the adhesive, so over time, if it ever does lift, you need to "glue" it back down, typically with primer 94, which will ruin the film if you try to lift it up for whatever reason.

Toothpicks with either detailer, or if super ocd use car soap and water that is about 50/50 for a lubricant. Don’t use isopropyl as mentioned. Wipe up with detailer.
