I know they are apples to oranges. I know its subjective. But I know some people on the forum have been in my shoes. The feedback was greatly appreciated.

No rattles? No interior defects? No leaks? Nothing? Man you must be lucky.

No rattles, interior defects or leaks. The only "defect" I had was a shredded alternator belt/pulley in my 2015 F80 after I tracked it for the 5th time (was a June 2014 build - the earlier 2014 builds were somewhat known to be prone to this issue when tracking). However, I had it replaced under warranty, tracked the car several more times after that and no problems. The F8x platform is otherwise virtually indestructible on the track (I did switch tires to the Bridgestone RE71R and brake pads to Pagid RS29).

After about 7-8 all-day track sessions with the F8x (balls-out flooring it and slamming the brake pedal to the floorboard from 118 mph down to about 40, numerous other extremely hard stops from about 80 mph down to about 35, and flooring it going back into the straights - lap after lap for 25-30 minutes straight per session, times 5 sessions per day, times about 7-8 track days - you really gain a healthy respect for how robust and well-built the F8x platform is. Aside from the problem above, traded my 2015 "civic" M3 with close to 60,000 miles on it for my current 2018 M3 ZCP (can't wait to track this baby with the ZCP suspension and MPE).

In all seriousness - sorry to hear your experience with BMW was bad - but the amount of punishment these cars can take on the track and still be highly-reliable is amazing (at least based upon my experience).

rattles... omg every single car I have owned rattled, except one lexus.

I went to mb dealer to fix my rattle in my c63, they told me they don't cover rattles, lol. My wife's E350 creaked over bumps like you're having sex with it.

My audi s4 had electronic gremlins, they had to take apart the car to fix a short in the wiring, and there was a high pitch rattle that only occurred when my wife was in the car so that she could mock me.

Interior defects- wife's '15 gs350 leather has at least 3 different grains, it's laughable, steeering wheel screws are exposed when you turn the wheel 90 degrees, dunno how car mags miss these details when applauding lexus interiors. hard plastics, switchgears from regular toyotas, etc. Don't get me started on the trim, it is the most dentable material known to man. Must be the thinnest piece of metal you can produce. Side view mirror housings buffet with the wind, paint is so damn thin, front bumper looks like swiss cheese in some areas due to rock damage.

If you're looking for issues, you're going to find them.

My 2 brand new Porsche's rattled and squeaked. My brand new R8 squeaked and clicked backing up. Happens with every brand.

You get lucky sometimes. Sometimes you don't. My 13 M5 had some buzzing which went away on its own. 15 M5 and 17 M3 was rattle/squeak free. Now my 18 M4 has some buzzing in the rear shelf.

I've been on multiple vs gt350 threads and camaro threads with you. I've seen you decide on another f8x, and the mods/software updates threads. I've been on this journey with you and its not been consistent, man.

I'm not surprised to hear that. I do have some creaks here and there with my F80 that I didn't have with my F82 but the coupe will always have less noise due to the doors (where most of the noise comes from really) because the door seals aren't moving.

Haven't had any issues with any of my BMWs thus far but when it comes to cars and stuff, it's a lot down to luck too. There are people that are just downright unlucky when it comes to certain brands. It's like when you buy parts for a computer. You might be the type that seems to always get problems when you purchase a Seagate HDD but you don't when you buy Western Digital HDD. Then some other dude have constant problems with WD HDD but not Seagate.

Same with cars really. Who knows.

Though when it comes to engines, V8 will always sound better but not huge on interior. I'd also look super tiny in a Mustang or Charger, which I heavily considered.

I really enjoyed it. It plays dual role extremely well. Was great at the mountains and I took a 500 mile road trip in relative comfort.

I really want a 991.2 GT3 Next.

Yeah and buying the second f8x was a huge mistake. I should have gotten over the Ford dealer issues and waited for the 350.

What was inconsistent in the Camaro threads? I said I drove one on vacation in Cali and loved it. Thats about it.

Otherwise not sure what youre talking about. Ive tried a lot of different mods, exhaust, and tunes cause I never found a setup I loved. I guess thats inconsistency to you.

Every BMW and most cars I've owned have rattled. My F80 persistently has door rattles and one in the dash. Door one I sort of fixed but dash one I didn't want to tear it apart to fix. I don't consider rattles defects as they are pretty much par for the course nowadays in every car.

One big squeak on F80s that's easy to fix is to apply a thin film of WD-40 to the door seal around the windows or use Teflon tape for a more permanent fix. This eliminated 80% of the noise in my F80. I've only had to reapply the WD-40 once a year or so.

Generally speaking, my 335is and M3 have been relatively trouble free. My E60 535i has had issues, but I bought that one used and it wasn't in the best of shape.

If people do not like rattles, the exhaust in the GT350 makes the entire car rattle. I do not believe there is a spot in the car that does not rattle, when you press gas. The more you drive it, the more it rattles. I'm guessing the screws are loosening from all the vibrations.

But damn the exhaust sounds freaking good!!! So even though I might lose my rear bumper on the highway, this is literally the only car you will be smiling in, while seeing the bumper flying in your rear view mirror.

I traded my 2015 M3 with 25k on the clock ( problem free btw) for a 17 GT350. Love the car and the feeling I get driving it. So planted, responsive and the sound is amazing. It's a thirsty girl though, where I used to avg 16-19 mpg in the M, I get 14-15 in the 350.
Both are amazing cars, but the GT350 is likely the last of its kind as everything is going FI

Sold my Atlantis Metallic F80, DCT, ZCP back in October. Also owned a non-ZCP, 6MT F80 with the 18” wheels.

Recently picked up a Shadow Black 2017 GT350. Hearing everyone talk about rattles and creaks... my F80 with the CF roof, sounded like styrofoam mixed with popcorn popping. The sound the roof made was atrocious. Got it brand new, after one year and a very low 7,000 miles. It rattled and creaked obnoxiously.

The car was only drive in Comfort suspension mode, and the ride was **more harsh than the GT350 and even TTRS (both, also in comfort suspension mode)

The F80 was very engaging to drive and I loved every minute. The GT350 without a doubt is one of the most incredible sounding cars I’ve ever owned or even heard! Top 5 for sure, it sounds like a thunderstorm in hell! The high revving, flat plane crank, V8 feels intoxicating. It’s a completely different driving experience, I adore it!

The sound the roof made was atrocious. Got it brand new, after one year and a very low 7,000 miles. It rattled and creaked obnoxiously.

Great choice. The GT350 is unbelievable. If I do not enjoy this M3, I will shit can it and get a GT350 for sure.
