I just picked up a 2015 M4 Convertible - I noticed this under the dash and have no idea what this is or what it is for....comments appreciated -

looks like remote for radar detector. check for any loose wires near rear view mirror cover

It’s from an Escort radar detector hard wire kit. Allows you to mute it remotely.
