My installer uses Xpel and Cleargaurd Nano. Honestly it's hard for me to tell the difference between the orange peel on the Xpel and just the factory clear coat orange peel. If you want to see some installed examples of Cleargaurd you can see them on his IG

Pictures aren't really all that helpful. What I mean by that is you can't tell the difference between Xpel, Suntek, CGN or any other ppf for that matter in pictures. Sometimes you can't even tell the difference in person unless you examine it very closely.

Which begs the question does it really matter if 90% of the time the car is slightly or really dirty and you're standing at least a few feet away when looking at the car. I suppose if you're garage queening it or using it for IG likes and promos...

Actually yes very easy to tell from suntek vs xpel. Xpel is not shiny at all. Suntek is like wax on your car

Idk how true that is my installer has both and he said the film thickness is the same the glue is just thicker on the xpel.. I've only had it on for a few months and I just hit 1200 so it's still mint.. On my e90 I had xpel on the front clip and a rock penetrated the film I never lifted the film to see if it hit the paint but it def nicked it good.. Just one thing I know is 3m is the worst ppf stay away...

So just ordered my car, and had Xpel on my previous car which was alpine white. Definitely a thick film, and the protection was solid. Seeing as a lot of the cars on here photographed were metallic (my F80 is coming in MW), I am inclined to switch it up.
I did get one gnarly hit and the film held up and the green paint rubbed right out, but during the winter, at least this one in the DC area, when it was persistent and washing the car the futile, you could definitely tell it was covered. Doesn't really bother me, but for those who it does, it is for your FYI. I am inclined to switch it up and go with STEK. I do need to find a good installer in the area. The Xpel installation pool is very limited in the area.

I just got suntek ultra installed. The dealer i used in San Diego is absolutely excellent! He told me on darker colors the suntek will look shinier with the suntek. I have smb so I went with suntek. He also let me know that suntek ultra is the same thickness as expel ultimate and has the same warranty.

I've had both. Suntek on my last car and the latest XPEL on my F80. I only did the front bumper with both.
Overall, I think I prefer the XPEL. As has been said, the Suntek definitely is shinier. But it is shiny to an extent that it looked weird to me and obviously plasticy. It's not a benefit when you're only doing parts of the car. From my experience, the XPEL looks more natural and blends in better. Silver on both cars.
