Viscosity grade is mostly irrelevant as long as the oil meets the proper manufacturer spec.

what he's saying is you don't want to try and cram 10w60 down turbo oil lines

What wrong with BMW recommended oil? I don't mean to sound rude. I would like to use something else if there's any benefits but M power engineerings are very clever and I doubt they would cheap on selection for S55.

Nothing wrong with bmw branded oil at all, although they do not seem to support the LL-01 spec anymore (dealers seem to only use the ll-01fe 0w30 oil now and no longer the 5w30). The certification of ll-01 or ll-01fe is what matters. Brand and viscosity are virtually irrelevant.

I don't believe they make the proper spec for our cars.

But even if they did, it looks unnecessarily expensive when very reputable and high quality oils which meet the proper spec are available for a fraction of that cost.
