Water consumption over the spirited 300 mile trip was on par with what I've seen in the previous mileage since the break-in service. I would say I used roughly 1/4 - 1/3 of a tank during the drive.

I'm a bit baffled as it "seems" to be working properly but I'm logging max HP/TQ numbers far lower than everyone else is reporting.

You definitely do not seem to have a water injection issue

As for the sports display issue, I am not sure what to offer you :/

Perhaps the high elevation is the culprit.

Found this::

HP Loss = (elevation x 0.03 x horsepower @ sea level)/1000

I was thinking that but given it’s turbo I don’t think there is near the power loss as an NA motor. My buddy picked up a 2015 M4 last night and I asked him to snap a photo of his sport displays. His reading is almost identical to mine so I think something must not be working properly.

That would have to be a very high elevation as the car will compensate for altitude as necessary. Logged through Europe

yeah, i agree with the others. water consumption (or the lack thereof) is the one surefire sign that your system isn't working. it's also the first thing the SA will ask you about, so best to track it for a little while so you can give them hard data.

or you could just go to them and say my sport display isn't working....

Best way to find out if there is water injection issues is by looking at the trunk badge.
If it says "M4 GTS", then yes, water injection isn't working.

I had exactly the same issue with display showing maximum of 430hp. After replacing the water injection system (done under warranty so no charge) the display shows horsepower up to 500hp. I have posted all the receipts from my dealer so you can at least see what my experience was and what part number they installed. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I did save those from your post so I can show them.

I'm taking it in next Thursday to have them dig into it. Given my HP/TQ figures are essentially the exact same as my buddy's '15 M4 at the same elevation and temp, something's going on with mine.

I agree something is wrong with your car. Previously, my car was not using any water, and the gauge always showed about 430hp max. After a couple of months in and out of the shop waiting on parts and trial and error, my car now uses water and the gauge now goes up to 500hp at WOT in any setting or gear. Pat had the identical issue, only he was still using a little bit of water before his H20 rebuild, but also getting heat soak and codes on track to go along with his problems.

You can bet the dealer will say everything is fine, because they have not been through this with a few M4GTS's like my dealer has. Just keep pressing them. You are right, they will be wrong at first.

Finally got the empty tank message last weekend! It did take forever...
I started using the paddles more and now revving way past 5000 rpm as much as I can on the highway.
A lot more fun this way anyway...

I also noticed that the Hp display went from 450 hp to 500 hp after refill. So everything works!...for now...

I ran my carly reader and it said low pressure for the water injection system and the dealer told me the fault codes or any fault codes were present! They refuse to look further into the issue.

I have never emptied mine out completely but have added almost a gallon and a half which tells me it works. I also hear it running for a bit when I park in the garage for 45 seconds.

How many miles on your GTS? In my own experience, water injection didnt really fully activate (500hp in the sports HP display) until after 2000 miles (just like launch control)

In my other BMWs, launch control also didnt magically appear exactly at 1200 miles, it was past 2000 miles

I have over 4,500 miles. I actually never checked the sport display on the highway until recently when I noticed it would no go past 450 hp even though I still had water in the tank. As soon as I got the empty tank warning and filled it up, I went on the interstate (80mph speed limit) and floored it showing the full 500 hp.
FYI, I only filled up the tank twice since I got the car. If you do not push past 5,000 rpm on a regular basis, a full tank will last that long or even longer.

Bmw finally replaced my filter and block. I took it in several times and they were unable to read the fault code initially. I then went in and told them to please check the filter. They then noticed it was clogged. We paid all this money and BMW computer can't read the fault code? Same thing happened to another owner. I even showed them the email from the other owner and they ignored it. Shame on BMW.
