Tuned. DCT. Rarely kicked down under WOT or high throttle, maybe once every 2 months. Drove around on transmission 3 a lot but traction control completely off.

I will be adding Pure Turbos to my Stage 2 BM3 DCT currently running Meth/E30. No issues thus far, but will be doing the fix along with Turbos. Not willing to roll the dice anymore...especially now that I will be adding significantly more power. LOL, babying the car for the next two weeks before install

Sorry to hear of this.

Know about 15-20 ppl 500whp+ on BM3 , DCT and 6MT on OEM HUB
Some have 1yr+ running the tune, avoiding Kickdown is priority

Apparently these guys are running super high HP with no issue to the crank hub.

Somewhere there's a video on youtube with the guy explaining it. (Seems like you could save the $700 and cut the grooves into the stock part yourself if you were so inclined.

Been saying this for years, but the manual / DCT debate and which is more likely to spin is heavily influenced by the production amounts of 6mt/dct. The official manual / dct ratio for F80 M3s is roughly 1 manual for every 3-4 DCT cars sold. We don't have statistic on the F82/F83 yet but I am sure it'll similar in terms of much more DCT sold over 6mt. So yes; we will likely see 3-4x the rate of spun cranks on DCT just based purely on that.

Vehicle was fixed under warranty. I got lucky.

Be prepared to pay for a complete engine before you mod it hard. I'm not sure what will happen if I spin the crank again...

Omg how long did it take to fix? Your last response was at the beginning of the year.

I doubt that is doable. The new hub would need to be slightly oversized so that it is a press fit to allow the splines to key into the crank snout.

They just retimed the crank hub back to original specs?

Or did they replace your engine?

That is the only way the spline lock makes sense to me. Is it confirmed that the hub is oversized slightly?

Just picked up a (new to me) 2015 M3. Has a build date of Nov 2014 and is a DCT car. 42k miles on it. 1 owner lease vehicle, has no signs of previous modifications to me and is completely stock. Just read through this whole thread and am currently having some intrusive thoughts..

Have driven about 1400 miles between picking up from the dealer in Chicago, going home to CT and then some. Been enjoying the car and feeling it out, haven't "beat on it". One of the posts in here mentioned a rough idle as a suspicion of the crank hub slipping. With A/C and everything off, sometimes I'll get some lumpy idle at around 500. Seat vibrates and everything. Also, not 100% certain if this is normal... first DCT car.. moderate acceleration in 1st gear (pretty much anything more than your average amount of throttle when leaving a light) is jerky and will not feel linear whatsoever. As if someone was driving a stick and the car was trying to stall as if they were poorly riding the clutch.

Should I be concerned? I am concerned. Im still covered under MFG warranty. Thinking about going to my local dealer, introducing myself and seeing if the SA can take care of me. Would be great if I could provide the key'd hub kit and have it all done under warranty.

Hello and congratulations on the M4!

Reading through these threads will make you crazy. I highly doubt your crank hub has slipped with the symptoms you are mentioning. Most have had timing related codes along with very difficult starting/poor running when they experience a SCH.

As far as the other issues, if your still on original spark plugs, that could be the source of your occasional rough idle. Wonky DCT operation is not uncommon, although I have not experienced what your describing. Either way, since you said your still under warranty, go and let the dealer sort it out.
