Also a staggered set of 245/40R20 and 275/35R20 for the rears. Thank you for any responses!

Just ordered PA4 in 265/30/20 and 285/30/20 as per BMW recommended sizes. Unfortunately, the selection of winter tires in this size is very limited and I was unable to find a good deal for aforementioned 245 & 275 setup.

It’s a bit odd that newer iterations of winter tires are not available, such as Continental 850 or 860 or Dunlop WinterSport 5D. Checking their websites, they don’t even make them in these sizes, which is odd.

I think 40 may be to high and cause clearance issues. Has to be 30.

Please Help!)
what sizes will no rub in the front?
I'm thinking about 255/35 R20 to the front and 285/30/20 to the rear on 666M wheels

Does anybody try this setup on front wheels?

Pirelli makes a sotozero 3 - 295/30/20 rear and 265/30/20 front. That's what I have on my 666's.

Remember, rubbing is bad of course but it's not the only factor. Those 255/35's have the same (or bigger) overall diameter as the 285/30 rears if I recall correctly - significantly different than the front/rear ratio of stock setup. Meaning that the vehicles traction control will be much more sensitive since it'll think the front is spinning too slow (or rear spinning too fast) and it'll try and slow the rear as a result.

Alternatively, in my setup, it thinks the rear is spinning slightly slower relative to the front (vs stock setup). So I've noticed that traction takes a moment longer to kick in. Which i prefer vs too much intervention.

Will the alpins in 245/35/20 work on the front wheels and will it affect TCS?

Call tire rack sales support. They are awesome and they can explain all the math in detail. I believe those 245/35's are not ideal due to overall size compared to stock and rear matching options.

The best match in my opinion is 265/30 front and 295/30 rear using Pirelli soto 3.

Thanks for the tip. I’m running Aplins on my 911 love them. Very reassuring in all winter conditions. My wife wants to drive the M more so I am trying to stay #TeamAlpin. I’ll contact tire rack and see my options.

Thanks!

Upon further research Michelin winters won’t work. The Pirelli winter come sizes that match the 666M factory tire sizes. Any reason to aim for 295 over factory 285’s ?

Pirelli doesn't make a winter 285/30/20 that matches a front 265/30/20. The only option that looks like it matches has a mismatched speed rating if you look closely. 295's on the back work great.

there is not enough sidewall flex, use 18" set up for winter, I have my car stored for winter and use my camry or prius for winter.. get the 18's square set up for grip and more tire choices.. 20's in th winter is a waste in my opinion.
