Didnt even think of this.

Same process I assume of pulling fuse once valves are open?

I hear ya, I honestly dont mind it that much. The sound on the highway doesnt bother me at all knowing how much better it sounds at all RPMs without the valves closed.

They do open, regardless of competition package, in both Sport and Sport +modes, however still do close from time to time especially low speeds.

I almost prefer the sound of the valves open all the time, and maybe an option to close them when on long highway trips.

I've seen otherwise. A tech troubleshooting a non-functioning EVC to find it's been unplugged (or bypassed) will want to be reimbursed for their time.

Mod carefully.

Yeah, turn the car on (engine not started). Set to Sport+. Press throttle to the floor. Valves should be open. Go into the fuse box in the trunk (near the seat backs) and pull the 2 fuses. You'll have to search the forum for the fuse numbers, I don't remember them off hand.

Enjoy. It's soooooooo much better open all the time. I have this with AA midpipe. To me there is no drone. But I also drove an open exhaust evo for 10 years and loved it.

Okay it's fuse 146 and 147. If you have park assist, pulling I believe 146 will deactivate it and send you errors. 147 is a DC/DC converter. I just like to not deal with the small remote possiblity of there being issues by pulling the fuses so I just pulled the plugs from under the car. It's simple. Wrap it with electrical tape and tape it somewhere so it's secure and stuff doesn't get inside.

Side note: when dealer was fixing my car, they just plugged them back in. They didn't say anything.

I hate when people scream 'use the search button.' Search is so broken on a forum that's this huge with this many posts so here you go. 30 seconds of my time worth helping people save a lot more.

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1218020

The clips are pretty small and closer to the edge of the plug than you'd think. If your car's been driven a lot, it might take a bit of elbow grease.

We just need to touch the gas pedal. You can hear the valves open.

I have mine unplugged but purchased some blank connectors that clip into both the wire and the valve connections after to keep it from getting clogged up with crap.

Im open all the time as well!

I am running AA mid and rear (non valved version). Extremely happy with it. Sound is always the same....not a big fan of valves.

MPE with BMS valve controller. Love the sound and as a bonus I can close the valves on those 5:45am tee off mornings. Valves open it's loud, cold startup in the winter in the car snow shelter is DEAFENING loud. I've also heard my pal's same setup with downpipes.
Very agressive.

Heard the MPE on comp pkg and sounds great.

I have the AA midpipe + Eisenmann rear with BMS valve controller. Love the sound when the valves are open. Muted when closed. Midpipe really cleans up the lawn mower sound with base m3 on stock exhaust.

Same here, I had a 2015 335 M Performance Edition which I brought in about 4 times over the 1 year that I had it and no one said anything to me about the values being unplugged.

I’ve had my YMB M3 for a year now and brought it in 3 times and they’ve never said anything about it being unplugged.

Now about about to get a San Marino Blue M3 Ultimate Pack and will likely unplug it as well! Although the loudness of the titanium MPE worries me on my 5:35am gym starts.

Omg totally! I did buy Sassicaia‘s build! It’s a beautiful M3. I thought I wouldn’t get as many looks as I do with my YMB M3 but it’s my 3rd day with the car and it’s even more looks and comments!

That color is very nice. I find that I tend to get attracted to glossy dark colors. But I bought a LSB
