How does insurance handle something like this. Car's value is nearly doubled with all of the work/mods he had on it.

This can be a problem for sure. Although I had 25 k rider on my M3 for mods it still took me a year and a half to get paid from the insurance company and I had to sue them to get paid. Somehow they miraculously value the car to nullify the mods added. Hopefully between Felix's own insurance and the car carrier they will be able to cover this. Like you said mods equal the value of the car so this is a difficult claim here
