It's actually debatable if the car is any slower on that 1-2 upshift when going all out for acceleration times. Without the DME torque management, it would massively depend on the driver's ability to manage the result into 2nd gear (and the tire age, compound, ambient temperature, etc, etc).

I have done extensive work on this and found that (as crazy as it sounds) shifting at 6000-6100 seems to suppress it ... also i have a lot of data that shows that shifting at this point is the fastest way to drive the car ... at least for a 6 speed ... i dropped nearly .2 seconds 60-130 by changing from my 6500-6700 shift point down to right around 6000 |
