I've had the M2C now for over 3 months, and it's clearly a DME tuning issue designed to prevent inexperienced/unknowing drivers from just busting the tires loose on upshifts. It's most prevalent on the 1-2 fast upshift (as you'd expect) and is less noticeable in the higher gear changes. Having managed high HP RWD manual vehicles for over 40 years, it's disappointing that you can't drive the "real car" in this respect, but I've gotten used to it.

It's actually debatable if the car is any slower on that 1-2 upshift when going all out for acceleration times. Without the DME torque management, it would massively depend on the driver's ability to manage the result into 2nd gear (and the tire age, compound, ambient temperature, etc, etc).

I have done extensive work on this and found that (as crazy as it sounds) shifting at 6000-6100 seems to suppress it ... also i have a lot of data that shows that shifting at this point is the fastest way to drive the car ... at least for a 6 speed ... i dropped nearly .2 seconds 60-130 by changing from my 6500-6700 shift point down to right around 6000

Since you have lots of data on the subject, I am curious if you have ever experienced inconsistency in the rev limiter. On the longer straights in Laguna, I can typically hit about 110mph in 3rd gear. However, at times, the rev limiter kicks in at around 100mph. It is rather annoying when it happens.

we have never seen that issue .. the car has never hit an early limit although i rarely rev the car out as it is faster not to and i have gotten used to the early shift ... but that would drive me nuts
