Drag Strip Stock Tire disappointment

Hello Guys,

I finally took my car today to the local race track. Currently running stage 2 tune from Alpine with Stock Tires. I did 2 passes, I just couldn't hook up from DIG. I tried smokey burnout, brought down the tire pressure to 24psi and just couldn't hookup. 1st time ran a 17.0. 2nd pass 14.8. 1st time I launched using Launch Control at around 2500 RPM. Second pass I just did manual launch with no Launch Control since launch control didn't want to work, I assume car was too cold to use launch control to many cars in line. What would you guys recommend so I can hookup from a DIG when going to the local race track. I read some forums that the stock tire should hookup if doing a smokey burnout. Should I get some tires, if so what would be a good tire for both daily driver and drag racing ?

I have some VRSF Catless Downpipes arriving soon as well, and might go with Alpine stage 2+ tune next time I go to the track. I assume I will probably need some good tires.

Don't go thru the water , short burnout , modulate your throttle
