This is what I was worried about being a first time owner and buying a used car. I’m at 40k miles.

I recommend carrying a herd of cats in your trunk for all grocery runs.

Do they make the rubber trunk liner for the M3 like they do for the M4? I have one and it is helpful (another dad here).

Don't worry, if I don't trade it in this car will be on BaT.

"One owner, bone stock m3. All original. 70k miles. Maintained over stock requirements. No issues, no dents, no paintwork, no accidents. One incident not on carfax required a trunk-liner out toweling and wipe down with vinegar spray. Pictures of incident available upon request. Vehicle does have a problem attracting cats."

Lups I bet you never knew there was a built in Milk compartment in your M4. Wasn't in the owner's manual, huh?

Gotta tell you....I may keep that cover off and find some other way to protect those electronics. That's a shit ton of storage space hiding down there!!

Just think: Fill it with ice and you could be drinking ice cold beers out of the trunk of your m3/m4 all summer long. Built in drains too.

Or could you buy a Yeti like everyone else and be less cool.

Hi JoeFromPA,

I am curious, are you running a Vitamin D milk or 2%. I've tried the 1% before and I feel the torque to spill ratio isnt quite what I want it. Please let me know what you think I should use. If I re-tune I might just get 85% creamer mixture, not sure the OEM drains can handle that kind of lactose potential.

Let me know you thoughts,

Car is lactose intolerant. This will increase flatulent exhaust, unfortunately.

This assumes there is nothing else stored in the "milk reservoir". A good idea to keep it empty to moderate the risk.

1) Sop up as much milk as you can

2) Soak the area with Nature's Miracle. SOAK.

3) Sop up as much of the Nature's Miracle as you can.

4) Soak the area AGAIN with Nature's Miracle. Be liberal.

5) Let it sit overnight

6) Sop up any left over Nature's Miracle.

7) For safety, SOAK IT AGAIN in Nature's Miracle

8) Let it sit for one more night.

9) Sop it all up and check for rotting smells.

10) If there are ANY milky smells, do it again.

For the liquid shit swap in my back seat, it took 3 nights of soaking to got rid of all the shit smell completely. Then I did it again for safety.

By the way, if you want a cheap and easy way to prevent liquid spills in your truck, get 2 of those under the bed storage bins, kid of like this:

I throw out the lids and I keep them in the truck to carry food and liquids. It's instant waterproof protection for you trunk for $15 a piece at Target.

Nice, thanks.

Just to be clear: There is almost no milk whatsoever spilled on any surfaces I wasn't able to simply towel up and then wipe down, spray with vinegar, and wipe again. I could only feel about a 3"x3" section of carpeting that even felt wet. I appear to have been super lucky.

I'm going to re-install my trunk liner tonight after giving it 2 days to breathe/dry out anything residual. If I get any weird whiffs or anything, I'll get some natures miracle and go nuts.

Could've been worse. Imagine if you were driving a GTS and instead the spilled milk somehow got into the water tank.

Same thing happened to me with liquid detergent...

I bought a rubber trunk mat from BMW after that.

If it makes you feel better.....I still have sand in the trunk from taking my three kids to the beach in the M. Also a crack in the windshield from driving them in the mountains. I am in year four and was an early adapter, so far, amazingly good!
