Does the exhaust sound familiar to B8.5 S4/S5? I have the AWE non-resonated exhaust system on my S5 and really like it. How loud is this non-res system of M4 compare to 8.5 BS5's? Thank you!

The Turbo I6 BMW vs. Supercharged V6 Audi sound totally different, so the exhaust note is very different. I would say Non-Res F8X exhaust is 20% or so louder than Non-Res B8.5.

Thank you for your quick reply! I am also wondering if the F82 AWE tips looks like the same as it on S5? Because I like the tips at first. However, I found it gets dirty pretty fast and then the thin walled tips (not sure it's single or double walled) get a bit lost aesthetically when you viewed it from the back. Does the AWE increase the thickness of their new tips?

The tips are the same as on your S5 with the option to get a 102mm if you want.

I guess I will go with non-res system + ER downpipes... not sure how loud it's gonna be and how bad the drones are

I have to teach a clinic this weekend. I am free the next 3 weekends after that and am pretty flexible during the weeks. I am going to be playing around with some different mics in the meantime.

I have the Sony ECM-DS70P. and it works fantastic. The extension cable that comes with it is great for getting exhaust videos as you can run the mic to some where else on the car.

YEah, the downside to a 'vert is you're not going to smoke anyone on the track (unless you have a giant wing). The upside is the sound ... unless, for me, you have an M4. That fart is so horrifying I actively avoid it which is bummer.

Again. We thank you for such an unbiased and thorough review. Very well done. And secondly, congrats for recognizing how to be a better you and sharing your story with us. It certainly isn't easy to do with strangers but like you said helps develop new relationships.

I remember once you mentioned your M3 made you "cringe" when you are getting on it. I forget if that was with the akra or stock setup. But it sounds like this doesn't make you cringe at all. IMO it's the best sound for the S55 period. How would you say it's different in the area that previously made you cringe? I looked and didn't see that anywhere.
