Let's hear it: Hotels in Munich

I am driving myself batty looking at hotels. Let me hear some suggestions, from a site I trust.

Currently I am looking at:
Hilton Munich Park (around $275/night)
Aloft Munich (around $200/night)

Stayed at the Marc Munchen, very nice, great breakfast (best French Toast I have ever had), middle of city (can be a positive or a negative), small private underground garage but it was difficult getting in and out of. Honestly, I think a good 3 or any 4 star hotel in Munich is going to be excellent. Don't stress to much.

I stayed at the Hilton Munich Park. It's a very clean, nice hotel. In a little more quiet part of town, right off of the park. I'd stay there again.

I also stayed at the Bayerischer Hof on the same trip. obviously, it's a more expensive hotel, but I have to say, it was totally worth the extra money.

Kind of depends what your trip looks like. Are you going to have the car with you? Or is this before you pick it up?

I'm going to be in Munich for 4 days prior to pickup, so I ended up booking a room at Hotel Concorde Munchen. Not far from the underground, around the corner from Hofbrauhaus and Marienplatz. Around $170/night, rooms look nice (got the superior room).

If I had my car with me while in Munich, I would not have picked this place.

We also stayed at that Hilton last month.

Good underground parking.

We would stay there again, good location.

I second Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich. Very clean, great restaurant and bar, excellent selection for breakfast. Parking is modern in a clean and well lit garage. Through BMW ED you will get a one-night discount. I stayed two nights (Thursday/Friday) for 304 Euros, which included parking and breakfast.

Public transportation is just 5 minutes away and only one stop. We took a taxi and it only took 10 minutes. It is walkable and the drive from the Welt to the Hotel with traffic took just 15 minutes.

Public transit to/from Marienplatz was 20-25 minutes.

Just a quick search and here you go:

Recommended Hotels for Munich - Parking

Hotels near welt?

As well as a ton of recommendations in individual's ED pictorial threads that are scattered all over here.

Should get you started.

Don't worry about parking your car in Munich. I left mine at the Welt, and you have in/out privs. I was guaranteed that nobody would bother me there.

I stayed at the Hotel Platzl. Great price, decent room and breakfast, plus excellent location, right around the corner from the Hofbrauhaus and a block from Marienplatz. Not only is Marienplatz gorgeous, it is also contains the U-bahn stop just a couple stops to the Welt.

What is your goal for staying in Munich - have fun before/after ED pickup?
How many days?
What are you into?

Need more info to provide intelligent recommendation!

I'm only staying in Munich 6/23-25, after that I'm heading to Italy, then dropping the car off in Nice on the 29th (finishing in Barcelona for three nights).

We arrived two days early to explore Munich before picking up the car. So no need to worry about parking. Stayed at Cortiina Hotel which is close to Marienplatz, Hofbrauhaus, and Viktualienmarkt.

Also stayed at Marc Munchen on the return to Munich because they have secure parking in a courtyard, but the area wasn't as nice as over near Marienplatz.

If that's the only time you'll be in Munich do yourself a favor and stay in a hotel near the Marienplatz and one with some true German character. Flying all the way to Europe to stay in a Hilton is a deeply upsetting concept for me.

Check out the Blauer Bock. Great location, great little hotel without a crazy price. Not sure about parking but we stayed one night there when we first got to Munich and loved it. Staff was fantastic.

We stayed at Munich Aloft twice, its a freshly opened hotel, so everything is brand new, all the rooms are nice and modern. Highly recommend it.

We choose to skip out on the breakfast from Aloft, as it didn't look that appealing. But there is a train station right across the street and they have tons of good food and for less than Aloft charges for their breakfast.

The location is very good too, its just steps away from city tour busses. They have an underground parking garage, but we didn't use it. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I have stayed in Aloft in the US, I'm leaning towards booking there.
