Reduce Hood Gap
I was doing my Sunday morning car wash, and wiping down the engine bay. I accidentally hit this little plastic hex bolt and kind of knocked it loose. As I was putting it back on, I realized it's used to adjust the amount of "gap" between the top of the bumper and the hood. You can tighten it down by hand. It seems to be a stop for how low the middle of the hood rests. I did about one turn, and the hood sits more flush with the bumper

I guess you missed reading the mega thread few months ago on that topic I posted many documents related to gaps and adjusting the bonnet in post #36 at http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...php?p=19530510, there's more adjustments to the bonnet.

So I hate to dig up old threads, but I found this while searching for how to align the center of my CS hood (which sits too low relative to the front bumper), and noticed that my 2018 does not have this center hood stop. I have two on each side of the hood itself, but not the center one. As I looked through this thread, https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1774179 , I noticed that some have it and some don't. Looks like they removed it either 2017 or 2018?
I had wondered if I bought the part if it would work on mine, but it looks to me like the attachment points of the part won't work on mine. Thoughts, anyone?

In my case, however, the hood is OEM CS, so I should be able to get the fitment pretty perfect. Everything is good right now on mine except that the center is too low. Gaps are good everywhere, and the height at the corners of the hood by the headlights are fine. Some adjustment where this stop would be would likely eliminate my issue.

I converted my OEM hood to a CS carbon hood a while back. The problem was that my 2017 M3 didn't come from factory with that plastic Hex nut or an opening for it. But it is partially precut. (See second picture)
What I did is just cut out the metal (follow the outline and cut right up to it). Drop the plastic hex nut in it and do a bit of adjustment on the nut and now there is no more gap. It's flush. I didn't realize until now that that's where that nut was supposed to go so thanks for this post This can help the folks that don't have the opening for the nut but still have a gap on the hood where the center section is lower Bellow you can see what the gap looks like and the opening where you would have to cut open the hole (I couldn't find on realoem.com a hex nut that could fit in there without having to cut the hole) |

Looks like I am going to have to do some cutting to make this work. Can you tell me what you used to cut out the hole?

I am sure you can use other options but that's what I had. Including drilling, test fitting hood it took me about 15min if you have everything ready |
