Essential options for M4

Hello,

I signed the deal today for my order but I've got that same feeling you have when you leave the house to go on holiday, like I've forgotten something...

Here's my spec, can you guys think of anything essential I'm missing? If so let me know pronto because I've only got a day or two to change anything.

Please and thank you

Competition package
Black Sapphire
Full Black leather
DCT
Reversing camera
Sun protecting glass
Slidey forward armrest
Carbon fiber bling/trim
Adaptive LED's
high-beam assist
Head UP display
HK surround

Very nice spec, only thing I would add is the speed limit display and heated steering wheel..

I don't get the led lights, £1600 is a lot if money especially when the are not that much better.. (Personal opinion)

when you say 'full black leather', do you mean the dash leather etc?

If you're getting HUD I'd say forgot SLD.

Other than that...is your heart set on BSM? I had a black M4 and I wouldn't recommend it tbh.

Yup extended is the standard seats and not dash. Full is full.

Thanks for the replies, yes it's the full leather option which includes the dash, forgot to mention I'd already specced the speed limit display although on my 24 hour test drive it wasn't the most accurate and told me on a few occasions I was in a 60 zone when it's clearly a 30. So that's maybe one to remove.

Interested to hear your reasons for not liking black MCarChris?

But even so why?

Yep, great option and something I use a lot.

Does anyone recommend the adaptive lights (non led) £360 for that and high beam looks ok

I also added Extended Storage and Comfort Access, on my M3. ES because it gives me 12v sockets for rear and hooks for bags in boot (plus a couple of other bits). CA because I don't get using the key to open car then not needing it so preferred full keyless.

I have the above and heated steering on my X6 but not that bothered with the steering so left it out.

Definitely add Speed Limit, well worth it. It even adjusts for rain in France ie speed limit on motorway there is lower when it rains.

I didn't do full leather as I'm sticking with plain black. The leather dash imo is not worth the money.

Edit: I also added Surround View. Again, because I have this on X6 and love it.

Yes, definitely worth it for £360.

I'm sure I read on f30post somewhere that adaptive lights are actually better lights (ie in terms of illumination) than normal non adaptive lights.

Edit, the above may not be true, think I was getting muddled up with this thread!!

Thanks guys, have added the kitchen sink and surround-view. Never used a heated steering wheel and although it sounds great in our wintery climate, the surround-view I thought was a more often used and useful feature.

Order in, let the waiting commence!! (end of July slot apparently)

EDIT: added heated steering wheel as well haha

Side view cameras. I use them every day. Far more than the reverse camera. The nose is long and pulling out of blind turns is simple when you switch the front side view on. And for parking the top view saved my wheels many times.

I also added active security package. I like the way the seat belts tighten when you pull away. Collision warning is also useful when your not paying attention in traffic jams. Not essential but I like ticking boxes and got carried away.
If you are financing it you may want to look at mperformance stuff as you can hide the obscene cost in the payments. Mpe especially.

Edit. Sorry missed your comment that you've added surround view. You won't regret it. I find parking the wife's X5 easier than parking my M4

Not needed as in the UK Extended Bluetooth is a standard option on the M3/M4.
