Front splitter

Hi guys. I recently bought online a front splitter (original BMW) I specifically asked the guy if there was anything else needed which he said no. The splitter has been fitted by a local garage - I picked it up and they pointed out the it appears to have bits missing... It's where the fins come down to the bottom... Can you guys help please?

This sounds like the horrible plastic bits left if the carbon corners aren't fitted.

It's the main reason I didn't go with the OEM splitter as I'm not really a fan of the carbon parts and begrudged being forced to spend the additional £500 on parts I don't really like just to cover up bits on the std splitter.

I went with the Lightweight splitter. Clean and simple. Cost a little more than the stock splitter but you don't need the other bits so overall a bit saving

Ade, that sounds spot on. Pissed me right off. Does anyone have any of these second hand? If not I will be insisting on a refund because I did not intend on spending 800 in total just for a front splitter.

It is a bit of a nightmare particularly if you specifically asked if anything else was required.

If you have a look at the part picture you can see the bits that would be visible when fitted that the carbon parts fit to.

Those blades bits on the left are what appears to be missing. Not happy bunny. Anyone got them for sale?

it obviously can be done without having to have the carbon corners...? so curious why the splitter would be supplied without the relevant fixing components regardless of the corners!? send it back mate or kick up a fuss if you bought from a dealer.

Hmm that's not great. A bit misleading really, so you have the lip but not the bits that cover over the bumper.

You can get them off eBay but I'm not sure how they would fit given the lip is already fitted.

The car in that picture looks to have the corners fitted but matched to the body colour so less conspicuous....

I'm certain I saw a picture of the splitter fitted without them and it looked awful, a bunch of visible fitting holes/slots left which can't easily be covered without the carbon corners.

I agree that I would get back in touch with the supplier.

ah yes you are spot on.... I had no idea you couldn't have the splitter without the corners....

Yes it's not made clear anywhere really. I only found out during the very long period waiting for mine to be ordered and looking for pictures without the carbon bits.

After I saw what it looks like without there really is no way to even tidy it up without the carbon corners. Hence my choice of Lightweight splitter.

It seems to me like BMW dropped the ball as I'm sure they'd sell a lot more of the splitters if they could be fitted without the corners.
