It’s the high-speed compressive blow-off valve that absorbs curbs and large bumps. The lack of damping (low and high speed rebound are adjusted at the same time as is the compression damping which is coupled to the rebound adjustments by a fixed percentage) could potentially create an odd feeling when transitioning back to rebound. However, dampers are rebound-biased which means for the same piston velocity, the magnitude of the rebound damping force is 2-3x higher than the magnitude of the compression damping force. What are the front and rear main spring rates?

Are these Nitron ogsm custom-valved R1 or Nitron OTS R1? OGSM track recommendations are F/R 4/4 clicks from fully closed and street driven are F/R 4/4 clicks from fully open. F/R 4/3 (from fully open?) would be far too few clicks to adequately damp the motions of the sprung and unsprung masses.
700f / 900r rates. Divorced

I ordered from Interia labs. So my assumption is OTS Nitron valving.

Those were 4/3 clicks from open. Everything I saw said start soft and slowly add stiffness. Cause I started too soft and added too little, haha. Still miles better than oem.

IL has performed all of the development valving and spring rates so I’m not sure if what you get if you purchase directly from Chris. I know someone running the elec-Tron R1 purchased from IL/Chris but provided new damping curves based on ogsm elec-Tron R3.

However, the F/R 700/900 lbf/in is either a second option offered by ogsm or those are more likely the OTS rates.

Starting in the middle F/R 10/10 should be a good start and then add or remove “clicks” in 1-2 increments and write down how the response changed. As you already know, the final number of “clicks” doesn’t have to be the same front and rear. Don’t be afraid to adjust a 1-way (adjuster controls rebound damping but compression damping is coupled to rebound adjustments. Always note the changes you felt with different F/R settings so you’ll have notes that can be used to quickly making damping changes at a new track or a green track that you’re familiar with.

Really appreciate he input. I’ll make the adjustments and try them out. Have another VIR event in a few weeks.

Had a great weekend at VIR. I did my first sessions by moving up slowly from my low 4f /4r setting. Going to 6 f&r then 8 and then 10. Very noticeable each time. I stopped at 10 because I ended up moving run groups and wanted to focus on that and other feedback I got from some much more experienced f8X drivers.

Overall the higher setting were much better and I clearly have runway still to go. Loving the Nitrons and folks who ride along made some nice comments about how the car felt as well.

Anyways. I know it’s still not a super common system so I’ll thought I’d just chime in again.

Nice! Glad to hear you could feel the difference in damper response with each damper change. I definitely understand the driver mod needs as much fine tuning as the dampers, if not more
