Forgot to post up my Round 2 at Autobahn CC Post Event Notes! (Event was back on June 27th-28th)
Autobahn South StreetGT Results Coby Shield | 1:30.946 | Camaro **Class Record Christopher Bickford | 1:33.603 | Corvette Alex Artayet | 1:33.610 | M3 Didn't really have any big changes planned to the car for this round with the quick turnaround between events. I did get the matching DS1.11's added to the rear of the car and I want to say it felt better under braking and I think it's rotating better now, wish I would have had more of that at Gingerman. Still having issues with power application out of turns but lowering rear tire pressures 2-3psi compared to the front felt a little better and will be the new standard moving forward. Think I might have missed out on a few more tenths not doing that in the morning session on Sunday. Overall, I felt like I put in a better drive on the weekend at least mentally and scoring slightly less pts. Coby threw on the Viper ACR tires in the morning on Sunday which proved to be about a half second faster than the 315 A052, he didn't run the ACR at Gingerman. He said the window on the ACR is very small and you have to put down your lap in the first 2-3 laps otherwise it's toast for that session. I was on better pace with Chris B too and we were going back and forth all weekend which was a riot, it's going to be fun battle for second the rest of the season. Data showed that a 1:33.2 was on the table and I had a big screw up on my fast lap going into the last chicane so I know the time was there. I didn't put Tom O'Gorman in the car at this event unfortunately and elected to take some crew for some laps in an HPDE session instead, their minds were blown lol. Also, Autobahn South was a really fun track, it was a little faster/sendier than Gingerman and not significantly more dangerous. Turn 4 is amazing, kind of regret not pushing a little harder through there, it was begging for it! If you live near there it's definitely worth the trip. Spoiler Alert: Big changes are on the way for Mid-Ohio in a few weeks!!! Don't think it will be enough to catch Coby but hopefully should close the gap some (at least down to under 2second gap ). |

Cant wait to see what you and Cody run at Mid-Ohio! Jk I hope it rains
But in all seriousness, :35-37s should be doable (club config -2 for pro).

Nice result! Looks great. +1 on dropping rear pressures to keep the back end in check. For reference, GTS cold spec is a 5 psi gap -- 35 front, 30 rear.
what are the pending updates? Or, is the competition cyber stalking you so can't say...

This will be the first competitive event where I get to compare my STI to the F80 directly so pretty excited about that. My STI ran 1:34.1 at MO last year and the 1:54.9 I did at PittRace in the F80 was over a second faster than what I did in the STI (STI was on PS4S tho) at PittRace so I'm thinking the F80 should be as fast or faster (hopefully) at MidOhio on the F80.1 setup. If the shipping gods prevail and F80.2 happens in time for MidOhio I'm expecting it to be much faster... |

Pulled the trigger on some 19x10.5 +35 wheels to run the 295/30/19 Goodyear SuperCar3 square. Longer studs and 17.5mm spacers for the front. H&R 30mm Front Sway bar incoming 600lb Eibach Rear Springs (Have a set of 800lbers laying around too in case she gets a little pushy with the bigger FSB). |

I am currently running Hawk HP+ pads on my F82 M4. I love them and work well for me. Pretty much all I drive on is the track and spirited driving. Do you or anyone else have any recommendations for a pad higher step up than Hawk but still can use for spirited driving on the weekends? |

Ferodo DS2500 is a great mix of street aggressiveness, they are dead silent, and will work great on track too. They'll be better in all scenarios than Hawk HP+.
My DS1.11's also just stopped being freight trains on the street, took about 9 track sessions lol and now I just get little squeeks here and there which is great! |

Started fitting these bad boys up!!!
19x10.5 Rays 57CR +35 23.4lbs The good, I think the rear fitment is going to be fine. The bad, I don't think the 17.5mm spacers I bought are going to be enough to fit the 295/30/19 Supercar3's on the front. I do have some 5mm and 7.5mm spacers I can add to the 17.5mm ones but dang that is a lot of spacer. I'm hoping it works with the 5mm so I can maybe try a 20mm. Tires should hopefully be here in a few days, nothing like cutting things close lol! |

New wheel setup is good to go for this weekend! Still got some other work to do before I leave on Thursday night but it shouldn't be an issue. This is a lot of meat and it feels like it has a ton of grip compared to the Bridgestones, so pumped!

Sweet, nicely done. Yeah that's meaty, looks awesome. What did you end up having to do up front w/ spacers? Good luck

I had to put a 25mm spacer on the front!!! Effective offset on the front of +10 now lol. They do poke a little bit but looks like the tires should tuck into the fender, hopefully...

GridLife Updates!
Ran Rd3 of the GridLife schedule at Mid Ohio back in early August. This is my favorite track I've been to and I was pretty excited to go back there after running a bunch of events at tracks I haven't been to before. It was a pretty wet weekend but I still had a ton of fun with the GridLife crew. I made a switch to the Goodyear Supercar 3 in a 295/30/19 square setup on a 19x10.5 wheel compared to my previous RE71R base 285/35/19 setup on a 19x10. I also installed an H&R front sway bar which definitely helped with confidence and installed the coilover kit and stiffer rear springs. Unfortunately I didn't have the car pro aligned and we had to a garage alignment at the track so she didn't feel quite right all weekend and unfortunately I didn't close the gap to Coby like I was hoping for and was still down by ~2.8secs to him and Chris in his C7GS by a tenth of a second... again. My best Lap was a dissapointing 1:35.601, to add salt to the wound I also had a little bit of contact with a tire wall on the exit of turn 1 during a non-competition session. Luckily the F80 took it like a champ and the car wasn't majorly damaged outside of a bent front toe-arm and that we were able to bend somewhat back in place lol and a broken rear corner tail-light. The rear fender got a little dinged up too but it's nothing a decent PDR guy can't fix. Luckily it rained all day Sunday so no one was able to improve on their Saturday times. Another 3rd place finish but an ok points haul to help me out on the season and a little bit of clean up to do before the next event haha. |

Little off topic but did your STi go through ring land / bearing issues? Funny because I own both cars and I drive the M much harder than the STi because I don't have faith in the STi's engine compared to the S55, especially when it comes to SOCAL heat.

The STI served well for the abuse it was put through for about a year before it started having some overheating and blow by issues. I sensed the head was probably on its way out when I traded it in for this car. I wouldn't have any issues tracking a stock turbo STI!

Road America Round-Up
Ventured out to beautiful Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin for Round 6 of the GridLife Track Battle Championship on September 11th. Rain was looming in the forecast and it was a wet drive once I hit the Wisconsin border. Needless to say I was quite apprehensive about my first time to this track and let me just say it lived up to the hype!!! First timed sessions were early on Saturday morning and the rain had begun to slow down but conditions were still classified as wet and the colder temps weren't helping things. This was the first time I had felt compelled to drive with the car with MDM on lol. There was zero grip throughout the entire session and I nearly spun my first time through the kink! The Goodyear Supercar 3 isn't great in the rain but luckily the sun popped out as the session was ending. Session 2 was nearly full dry! There were still a few slick spots that you had to drive around but I was able to drive the car pretty hard. The Kink was still terrifying as all hell, I've never seen anything like it haha and the speeds everywhere were absolutely insane. Luckily I found some time but I was super off pace from Coby and Chris who have both been before. The rain started to come back towards the end of the session and my brakes were shot but I had a good feel for the lines and braking zones. I ended up bailing on the third session which was extremely wet and settled in for sunday with a 2:39 which was 10sec back from Coby... eeesh. We battled the rain with whiskey on Saturday night and awoke to sun and a dry forecast for the entire day! First session I dropped over 7 secs and got down to a semi respectable 2:32.3 but Coby dropped down to a 2:27 and Chris was down in the 2:30's. I couldn't find any time in my second session and was fighting brake issues with stock brakes overheating after 2laps as I started pushing the car harder. Traffic was getting difficult to manage as people were finding time as well, in hindsight I should have shown up late to grid for these last sessions to avoid traffic, the track is sooo huge!!! Last session of the weekend was up and we tried bleeding the brakes one more time to see if that would help but my front brake pads were getting pretty thing which probably wasn't helping things. There are 4 different braking zones on this track from big speed, Turn 1 was 150mph, Turn 5 was 145mph, Turn 8 was 125mph, and Turn 12 was 140mph. I was on a flier and unfortunately hit traffic in Turn 13 so I wasn't able to improve data shows it would have only been between .5 to 1sec so I wouldn't have moved up in the standings much and only would have scrapped together a point or two more for the season championship. The session ended early with 2 cards stuck in the wall at Turn 1. Luckily 4th place only improved a little and didn't push me out of third. Summary, I was totally blown away by Road America. It was the first time a track has legitimately given me the heebeegeebee's and it challenged me more than any other track I've been to. It was fast, terrifying, and so much fun and I can't wait to go back. Last edited by F80Speed77; 10-06-2020 at 10:28 AM.. |

Decided that the stock brakes weren't enough for me after fighting overheating issues at Road America and just a slight lack of confidence in them during the season. The LR caliper also had a bleeder get stuck so bad in it that a machine shop would have been required to pull it out. Luckily, found a set of CCB Calipers for sale from a fellow forum member and picked up some M2C rotors and pads! Got stuck with DS2500's with a tight time table until GridLife MidWest in a few weeks.
Sadly my beloved Rays 57CR's won't fit over the new massive calipers ... Also, had to get an emergency order of 275/35/19 RS4's since the Bridgestones on my 19x10" Konig's were shot. Not a cheap few weeks... They just barely clear the wheel by a few mm so I think a set of Richland Forged might be in my future! Brake pad surface area comparision (Top is the M2C pads) |

Thanks! I have been contemplating getting BBK over stock. That's good to know. Also, I love the Miller. You need 12 of them before spending the money on a BBK . |
