Not a chance that a M3 would hit 250 there! Not even a GT3.

New M5 maxed out at 247 on Sunday ......no chance with the M3 getting close to 250

F80 has 10kmh speedo error @ 290. The car in the YT shows over 240, but this car has four people in it. Main straight is 950-ish Meters. M3 is already doing 140 before the straight. If I can do 250 on a 1.2Km straight go-to-stop, I can't see why all the disbelief of a F80 doing 250 at PI?

Updated time for me @ Sandown.

Ran a 1:20.96 last time out on the 21/04/18. Times off natsoft.

Mods are A050's and Ferodo DS.Uno's. Stock otherwise. No video this time unfortunately, as is usually the case, I forgot to turn the camera on for the fastest session.

Massive thanks to MPoweRo who lent me some brake fluid after having the pedal go to the floor half way around a hotlap.

Cheers,
matt

Well, finally got to PI on the weekend. Only got two dry sessions so there’s more time on the table with a bit more familiarisation... I’m a big blouse through turn 1 too.

1.50.89 - natsoft 1 July 18.

For people who like to geek out on data, here’s an overlay (10hz gps) of my lap.
https://serious-racing.com/p/taim.html

A050’s and DS.unos are the only mods.

For those asking, my top speed GPS indicated for the day was 250, 247 on this lap.

There’s a 1.48 in it for sure.

Bloke, have you gone near any other pads? Pagid's will go near $1k for a set, what did the Frodo's cost?

Well done Matt!

I would have come but I'm in NZ.

Yep, it's all about turn 1 speed. I reckon you could push another 10kph through there no problem.

Will have to join you at the next one!

I got the Ferodo’s from Vsport in Sydney, I think they were about $350-400 a set.

That being said, after running two sets of them, I’m going to try the Pagid rs29’s next, as these don’t seem to get more than 3 events to a front set of pads.

Cheers,
Matt

Ah shame!

Yeah, I reckon there’s probably an extra 10-20km through turn one and probably the same through hayshed.

It was wet for most of the day so I was steering clear of the ripple strips, there’s more time to be had there.

I’ll chuck up a video shortly, I need to get myself strapped oninto the seat better, as it is, I move around too much.

Cheers,
Matt

No one is arguing that you can hit 250 in an M3 at the island. The argument here is “at the sign”.

That’s a real decent time for a stock car with pads and semis. Well done.

Haven't tried the rs29, but I really loved the rsl1.
Based on your lap times I don't think you'll get more than 3 track days out of any pad, 1.50 in stock car is excellent.

Morgan Park uses "Mylaps" for timing not Natsoft.

pretty cool !

What did you record the video with? It seemed like it was mounted on your passenger's helmet, as it was moving around a bit.

Thanks!

It's mounted on the window, obviously don't have it tightened quite enough. Guess it helps with the sensation of speed.

In any case, back again over the weekend (9/9/18), a new PB. 1.49.27. Stuffed up a faster lap out of turn 11, there's a 47 in it I reckon. Optimal says a 1.47.8.

Rear tires are toast so got slower as the day went on.

Here's the video of the 1.49.27.

Mods are A050's and Ferodo DS.Uno's. Stock otherwise.

There was a M4 CS there too - I had rear LED and front CF bonnet envy.
