Hope you are not thinking about that beautiful GT4 when comparing? That is a no brainer.

On the street, there’s definitely a limit to how much cornering capability you can use without being an anti social driver, but it’s easy to find some space to accelerate from a dig or do a 60-100 roll, so a high power car is easier to enjoy on the street than a higher cornering limit car.

As for driving a fast car slow on the track, that’s on the driver to up skill themselves via some momentum cars or sim

~400 bhp for street purposes imho. Preferably high revving n/a.

500 bhp pushing it.

F90 M5 should come with an "imminent arrest warning" on the throttle.

Agreed. Many more opportunities to explore high horsepower on the street, albeit in small bursts, rather than high speed corners. Especially in a state like Florida with no terrain or twisty roads.

I find the M3 in stock form on the upper limits of enjoyable horsepower on the public roads where I live. Pulls like a freight train.

I couldn't care less about highway rolls or trap speeds. I do stretch it out on the highways, though, and use 3rd gear at WOT often on country roads when overtaking. By the time I overtook one or two cars in 3rd, I am going well over the speed limits on a relatively narrow road so any more power than that and it'd get too hairy.

Basically, you do your highway rolls on 2 lane roads, with possibility of on coming traffic to spice things up.

I live my life a quarter mile at a time, in the opposite lane.

I'll never forget passing up a group of cars in one shot in a typical one lane per direction road... and one of the cars in the middle of the group was a cop...

Shoot. What'd the cop do?

Here, the law states that you can momentarily exceed the speed limit (not sure what excess is allowed) while overtaking, but obviously must return to legal speeds when the action of overtaking is completed.

This was in Spain, where you are also allowed to exceed the limit by 20 to pass on that type of road, but I was higher than that... i got pulled over and fined

Worst part was that a motorcycle going the other way did a siren motionwith his hand to indicate i was being pursued and i didn't catch it...

Drove a 2016 GTS and now I am totally sold. What a car.. Problem is selling it to my wife as we lose 2 doors and my toddlers love going in the M3

Dealer offered me 42k for my 2016 23k Manual and wants 69k for the GTS which has 13k miles with a MSRP of 92k. I feel that’s too much and I would be happier at 60k. Really hard decision.

Beautiful car but I agree $69k does sound like way too much. 718 GTS models arent that much more.

Drove that and sadly it didn’t do anything for me. Their move to 4 cylinders was a huge mistake.

In Allentown? It's listed on Autotrader for $70k which is considered a fair price according to KBB. Talk him down to $66k and jump all over it. If it weren't PDK, I'd drive up there in a heartbeat. Absolutely killer ride with the flat 6 GTS trim.

69k is actually quite a fair price for a 981 GTS. These cars hold value much better than M cars do. I’d offer 65k and see if they meet in the middle. It will hold value well for you too.

I would do it except wifey shot it down I could not justify loss of 2 seats. Oh well. Has to be a 911 then.

I think this car was offered on Rennlist by the original owner and the wing is not standard.....I think it's a GT4 wing. Go to the Rennlist classifieds and look around. Tell the wifey the "Frunk" is big enough for her so the kiddos will be fine .....Phil

It’s a replica wing. I was very curious to know how it is attached. They used rivets. Not a nice job.

I got a gt4 not too long ago. What an amazing car. Keep the f80 and supplement with a 981 or even a 987.
