Wheel Exchange Advice
Hello fellow UK-based M lovers!
Now I realise I'm probably going to get some stick for this, but it's something that I just can't get over, so I'm looking for advice. I've had Ford RS's, Honda Type R's and some 'practical but fruity' BMW's (335d, 340i, etc), and now I'm ready to move up a notch. Got my heart set on an M4 competition coupe. But I really don't like the 666M wheels. Been looking at aftermarket options, but the 763M's are still my favourite. Does anyone have any experience of selling 666M's and/or buying 763M's? |

Good condition 666M’s should be pretty easy to sell on I see a few sets go up on cutters and sell fairly quickly. Just an FYI on the 763m’s genuine wheels come in a odd set up (19’s at the front 20’s at the rear)

Yeah, echo the above really.
A good set off 666's with decent-tread tyres should go for £2k to £2.3k quite easily. That's the "real world" going rate for them on Cutters, and has been for ages tbh. You'll struggle, I suspect, to find good 763M's second hand. And when you do, prices are quite high. I'd suggest messaging site sponsors on here, and Cutters, for their best prices tbh. Cotswolds & Harry Fairburn spring to mind off the top of my head. It's worth you joining Cutters tbh, it's very active. Not like this section. I keep up to date here as I was active during my F30 days, so it's just habit really. Great choice of car, you'll love it!

If you have Black 666Ms I reckon that you can swap 666Ms for 763Ms with pretty much no loss (could even make money if you are lucky), standard 666Ms will be a little less. The black 666Ms are a pain to repair scratches as they have a shadow tint that is hard to match so people will always be on the lookout for genuine A1 condition half price spares as new they are around £1100 each). Just have to patient to pick up a set of 763Ms at a decent price (I got mine barely used with new Alpins for £2300). As has been said genuine 763Ms will be 19" on front and 20" rear so you won't be swapping your front tyres. There are replica 763Ms to be had for under £600 but they are not a perfect size match (and they don't sell a 19/20 set) and are obviously heavier and, er, replicas - there's a replica wheel a forum sponsor on Cutters - think I'm going that way for a winter set - assuming I can get them to supply a mixed size set.

Hi there
Literally just done what you describe for the same reason. I sold my mint condition 666M wheels which had only covered 800 miles for £2250. I then bought from Cotswold BMW 763M wheels with Cup 2 tyres for £3500. I then replaced the Cup 2 tyres with PS4S's for £724 That was extra cost as I didn't feel comfortable running cup 2's in the autumn / winter. All I can say is the car looks even better with the 763M's. Something about 19 inch front and the 20 inch rear that I love. |

I'll get a side on pic tomorrow but this is all I have right now. Not had it long so haven't got my full set of pics yet. I would add they aren't black black if that makes sense!

If you're not keen on 19/20, the M2 spec's the 763M in 19 all around
