Shouldn't be too bad, just have to exercise patience.

I won't be doing the splitters because I'm getting the CF ones, and I'll just do those while they're off the car.

It's amazing! However, I'm extremely busy moving. I've been up for two days packing boxes with the woman. The movers will be here tomorrow. I've hardly driven her this week at all. Once to be exact, and it is in the garage at my new house just waiting on me to find some time.

I can't wait for all these responsibilities to die down so I have some me time with the car.

I've been super busy, so no real time to organize right now. I figured I wouldn't leave you all hangin' too long. I'll try and get some better pics next time as well... I think I need to make some adjustments on the camera, and I'm not very good at photography, so that doesn't help.

Decent shot of my full gloss black vents. The gloss black louver really sets it off.

For those of you still having problems figuring this out...

It's fine here, and looks better in person. Pretty much the normal around these parts.

I'm fully aware of the California style(grew up there), but it's definitely not worth the 30k it would have cost to do. The house is much bigger than the pics show.

The house is far from tacky, and would probably cost over double what we paid in LA County easily.

The house looks really good, especially the circular driveway. Nice to see you've updated this post. Still thinking about the M3 (MW/SB), especially since I'll most likely be staying in Korea for 4 years now.

Thanks! Appreciate it.

I've been super busy since I got back, so I haven't been able to update as much as I'd like to. I know some of you have expressed interest in the Xpel thing, and I'll get to that as soon as I can.

Okay, so here goes it.

I bought a roll of Xpel Ultimate with pretty high hopes. I pulled everything off, and got it prepped and ready to go.

Started with the hood as that would give me a feel for the film on a relatively easy area to work with. I should have used a little more soap, and I eventually figured that out, which made the film a lot easier to get into place and adjust.

Worked my way out slowly, but surely.

Working out the fingers.

Eventually got them all out, and it was starting to come together.

Trimmed up

Wrapped

Why I pulled it off.

My expectations were very high, and I knew that coming in. I detail as a hobby, and I can be pretty damn picky about things. I was not a fan of how the film looked on the car, however I probably should have left it on longer to see if I would warm up to it. If you're thinking about doing a job like this, you need to manage your expectations. I give so much credit to the professionals out there who do this for a living. You guys do amazing work. This job wasn't about me doubting the skill of this application, it was more about seeing if I could do it for me.

I think I managed to get pretty damn close, but then again, I'm picky. Damn picky. As much as I prepped the area, there were two spots where I managed to get a couple very small Siberian Husky hairs underneath. That there is a lost cause in the middle of the hood. I also had a quarter sized area where it looks like some of the adhesive had backed off the film. It definitely wasn't silvering, and you really couldn't notice it if you didn't have a trained eye. You probably wouldn't have been able to notice any of it, or at least regular folk. This is what ultimately led to me yanking the film and becoming best friends with Dr. Color Chip and maybe an insurance claim in a few years. I still have a bit of film, but I'm unsure as to whether or not I'd ever retry.

If any of you have anymore questions, or need advice, I'll give it to you. I have more pictures than this as well.

Here is the part where I tell you that I'm made a very sharp turn in my wheel selection.

I'd like to get some feedback on what you guys think about my selections. I'm not going to stray from the brand, that is set in stone and by far one of the best bang for your buck wheels that are pretty much overlooked over the heavily marketed wheels that float around here. These are light, fresh and I've owned a couple sets before. Made in the USA. I'll be staying 18''. They will more than likely be polished wheels. It will take a lot to get me to change my mind.

If you have any CCW submissions, they need to be D series or LM. There are a few others I'm looking at, but I'm looking at these two the hardest.

I'm a huge CCW guy, and there isn't much that will stray me from that. I think a lot of people have problems with a polished wheel, and for me, I love polished wheels. If your reasoning is that it's because they're polished, then I can respect your opinion. I don't do black wheels, that shit is trash just my opinion.

A lot of people don't feel the step lip, either, but CCW makes some of the best wheels around. A lot of people don't like the because they aren't trendy, or heavily marketed. Just look at these shifty companies like Morr out there dicking people around. I got a sponsor offer from Brixton, but I've never heard of them, and they don't offer anything I fancy. I won't mess with any of those companies. I like HRE's, but I'm not really sure they offer anything I like, either. At least when that will weigh less than 19lbs and cost less than $4k.

These are three piece modular wheels that have a tried and true reputation made here in the United States. You can only get them at one place, and there isn't come salesman type "call or PM for price." BS.

You're welcome to recommend any alternatives, for sure. Just no heavily marketed wheels that are less than 19lbs and 18"s.

No Morr, ADV1, Rotiform or any of that crap.

Edit: how anyone would choose VFF-103s over those is beyond me.

Let me reiterate... these are NOT chrome.
