To each their own I guess...

I find the two-tone done on the wheels make them look much more sophisticated and "high-end". I find most monochrome black wheels look cheap.

+1

Plus I think that two-tone design with polished front keeps the nice concave look of the 666M wheels which you obviously loose when you powdercoat the whole Wheel in black. Might only be the case in pictures tho

They look satin black. I tend to like this more than gloss black that many are doing with the 666M.

I'm not sure if there's multiple shades. When I had my ZCP wheels on my E92 M3 refinished, I just asked for satin black and they came out just like this.

does satin black give off a plasticky look? I'm worries that the wheels might look primer/plastic black in person, but gloss black seams to hid to much of the details since there is not sheen to it.... 1st world problems

You might be imagining matte black, which can look cheap. Matte black will have more of a chalkboard appearance to it. Satin black is usually what you'll see offered by wheel companies like Vorsteiner, HRE, BBS, and others.

Great comparison, they both look good but different. Which black would look best on a MG sedan?

As others have mentioned, you lose the detail of the wheel in black. But of the two, I think satin black helps sustain more of the detail with this wheel. I'd recommend it for that reason. I'll probably go satin if I don't go aftermarket.

So these are the famous Black 666M wheels? Only the lip is black. The face looks like a gunmetal colour, as I've been saying all along. Is that what they were like in person?

Yeh I was really disappointed. The face is the standard colour and the lip was the black. Not what I expected.

Equally disappointed by the front headlights which aren't much different from the pre-LCI.

I guess looks are subjective, but I really like what they did. As quite a few have said, all black my worry is that the beautiful spokes of the wheel would be lost. This is a great compromise between all black and super shiny silver IMO

As you look at the rim face on, it's the silver colour. The inner parts and lip are finished in black. If you look at my pictures, you'll notice the difference.

Is it really the same clear coat as the silver 666M on the wheel face?

My understanding is that the black 666M get a smoked/darker clear coat on the wheel face, just like black 437M do.

Well, I don't. Even looking at your picture, the wheel face looks to me like a darker shade than the silver 666M.

Even the BMW brochure (see my post#5) says that the face is dark coated.
