Road trip 2000 miles 4 people and luggage, tyre pressures to the max?
Got a long trip coming up in a couple of weeks with 4 people and boot full of luggage, just thinking I should raise the tyre pressures but the ride is hard on the normal pressures. Has anyone used the max load pressures and did the car still feel ok?
Thanks |

At moderate to high speeds, high tire pressures without higher load to compensate for them, won't just make for a harsher ride, it will also make the handling feel "floaty". It is indeed noticeable in an empty car. Fully loaded with passengers and luggage, it won't be. Just follow the directions in the owner's manual for setting PSI.
