I did not read previous post completely. You are correct.

I've been using this method for over a year with predictable results.
I have an '18 F80 ZCP and just tried this on my DSC module as it truly isn't clear to me what needs to change for true "Euro MDM".

After VO coding with the updated Typeschlüssel I checked the FDL coding for the entire list of codes in DSC thought to be associated with Euro MDM from 2015 onwards and most of them have changed values from my "stock US coding" (the 3 C_AMR values stayed at werte=0)....this makes me think that just changing C_Laenderkennung alone does not get one to Euro MDM.

Since my car isn't past break-in I just VO coded DSC back to stock for now and when weather warms up will test this out, but on my 2015 changing the 9 or so settings in DSC really made a difference, can't imagine the same isn't true here. Some of the settings are clearly tweaked....for example on the 2015 "UiwSetLevelPc" was 15% in Euro MDM and 20% in US MDM. On the 2018 VO coding with Euro settings gave that FDL line a value of 17%....a lot of them are turned back just a bit...making me think that they matter.

Appreciate thoughts...cuz I sometimes have sh!t for brains, which is why I'm on these here internets...

Trust me, that Laenderkennung is all you need on a newer car. On my F87 M2, Euro MDM can let me get REALLY sideways if you're really dumb. Otherwise, it can give you some mini slides on cold tires or the damp in 1st and 2nd

MDM on my M4cs is just perfect. Much better than the Euro MDM on my 2015 M4.

For those considering Euro MDM, I would suggest trying the CS MDM coding first.

The MDM coding is: DSC C_Laenderkennung ECE = 00

What is the parameter for CS MDM?

guess no luck for ZCP then......gotta stay with US MDM.....

any ZCP / CS / GTS in Europe mind sharing their OEM values?

On a side note, I recently replaced my M4 ZCP with an M2 Competition. MDM on M2C is so much better. In fact, it's better than any MDM or DSC setting I coded on my M4 (e.g. euro MDM, GTS DSC, CS DSC etc). It never flashes or intervenes on straight line acceleration or even during hard cornering. It also allows little bit of powersliding. I can't imagine how the MDM is on EU spec M2C. Finally I can say I'm not disappointed with the MDM anymore.

Can you elaborate on why the CS is better than Euro?

For track use, RE71R tires and TC Kline coilovers... using US MDM, power on track out is limited almost every corner.

Does CS vs Euro help in the situation above? Or only full DSC off?

It is never full off.

There is Euro MDM. There is CS/GTS MDM. And combination thereof.

I had coded Euro MDM on my previous 2015 M4 and found it much improved over the overly restrictive US MDM. I could get much more slip angle before it intervened at lower speeds. However, at higher speeds, it still mirrored the base DSC and was still too restrictive for the slip angles I use on track.

With my stock CS MDM, I can get crazy sideways driving in the snow before it intervenes that I don't use DSC off in the snow any more. On track, it also allows for more slip angles at higher speeds compared to Euro MDM. The interventions are very subtle and I don't see the DSC light flashing at all. I still find it too restrictive for my driving style though. The first time I took my CS to the track, I first started with MDM and was impressed by how little it interveened. I was however left a little uneasy with some odd handling quirks in transitions. When I switched DCS completely off, these quirks were gone and the chassis handling became sublime.

Just finished coding Euro MDM on my 16 M4 and can confirm that the setting above is all you need. The car immediately kicked up a drivetrain malfunction light after hitting "code" and then was fine

I havent felt MDM DSC kick in on twisties, but I do have upgraded suspension. On straights, MDM DSC engages in 1st - 3rd, but im also Dinan L3 Maps w/ a 6 speed manual.

Either way, Id be curious to see what the other options are, but I will eventually run no DSC once I get my tires and corner balancing completed.

Thanks to those who help on the forum.

Sorry for the lack of understanding, I haven't had to code anything for about a year. I was able to get my Istep updated yesterday and would like to start coding my ZCP to CS. Previously I had everything set to Euro MDM and GTS where applicable.

CS MDM = F82_GTS (C_Variante_Fahrzeug_e), correct?
What is F80_CRT then?

Have you tried GTS MDM on your M2C? I'm curious how it compares.
