US vs. UK M3 acceleration times?

Hi, first time poster.

I have a new BMW M3 F80 DCT Comp Pack on order. Whilst doing my research I notice that BMW USA and US car publications list better performance times than UK based counterparts.

I have seen 0-60 times raging from 3.8, 4.0, 4.1 and 4.3 seconds and top speed 165mph. I thought BMW limited top speed to 155mph.

My question

1. Is the US M3 F80 faster than the UK M3 F80?
2. Can anyone point me in the direction of BMW official performance times?

Thank you from one confused BMW Fan.

Deep.

Assuming DCT in each case, since model introduction I've seen all those times, and 3.9 has seemed to be fairly reproducible. The variation is likely down to weather conditions, surface conditions and driver skill. Bruno Spengler can probably get 3.8, Jeremy Clarkson maybe 5.2.

There are indeed many different numbers floating around. The main variables:

State of tune: base / competition / CS
Transmission: 6MT / DCT
Metric used: 0-60mph / 0-100km/h

You can rest assured that US and UK spec M3s perform the same

Thanks, for the welcome I am looking forward to the M3 arriving. I have been an AWD Audi man, this is my first BMW. I needed a four door so I made the switch to rear wheel drive M3.

It will be interesting to compare driving characteristics between the two manufacturers. I suspect traction and driver skill are the 2 things that make 0-60 time pretty irrelevant.

Also are there any tips on running in the M3? How may miles do you recommend waiting for before putting the M3 through its paces? Thanks

The recommended procedure is in the owner's manual. However, other opinions exist, and you can read all about them in this forum (you may have to search for "break in"):
