F80 Rear Bearing DIY
Anybody done a rear wheel bearing replacement DIY yet?
TIS says to use a million special tools to press the bearing and hub apart/together on the car, but that seems insane since the F8x have a design where the bearing is bolted on to the carrier instead of pressed in like previous generations. Any reason I can't press the hub and bearing together in the shop press and then simply install as a unit on the car? |

Need to replace axles, bearings and hub. Sounds like I can just remove the entire hub instead of trying to remove the axle first and the Removing the bearing/hub.
Will give this a try in the next day or so… Would love to hear feedback if any one has gone through this. Also, where is the best place to find tq specs for this? |

I'm in the middle of replacing CV axels on F82.
The instruction in pic says to remove the 4 bolts holding the wheel bearing to knuckle assembly. Do you need to remove the 4 bolts to release the axel from wheel hub? (I would not think so) Where you able to separate wheel hub from cv axel with no trouble so you can slide off the wheel bearing? |

I paid someone to install the Motorsport rear hubs on both GTSs, so I can't be much help, sorry

FYI - I noticed the rear bearings are the same part number as the E60 M5. The below install video shows the same configuration with the bearing and carrier. It should be a very similar, if not identical, process.
