Who tinted and who didn't?
Just a poll to see how many people decided to tint or will tint their M3/M4 in the near future. Maybe this could help people like myself that are sort of in between the idea but also provide a general idea for what most people do.
Feel free to provide a reason as to why you did or did not tint. |

Going to be getting tints done soon! Not super dark, but dark enough haha.
Car just feels 'naked' with the stock windows...

Tint. I think it compliments AY (and tones down the SO interior). Qualifier: this is my config but haven't received it yet. I would tint anyways because I do like it aesthetically and being formerly from Texas keeps the cabin cooler and protects the interior materials a little bit.

How's 20% look. Any pics? Any regrets not going 15%?

Here's a few pictures, one from up close and one from farther away, excuse my emoji's haha. and i like the look of the 20's, 15's would have been a little too dark at night for my liking
**edit, dont know why the last picture is sideways but you get the idea haha

Tint does more than just make the windows darker, it keeps the interior cool(er) but most importantly, stops UV damage to the material inside. Eventually plastic, leather and such will fade and such. Also you won't get a sun burn like I can if I didn't have tint haha.
I even tint my windshield, otherwise the dash gets to like 1000 degrees (it's Arizona after all). I have a combined 17% all around and 35% on the windshield. -RyanG

Still haven't received my car yet but really debating whether or not I should tint my windows. Considering the SO interior on Mineral White, I think id like to have that contrast but then again I do like the privacy

I just got my car tinted on Monday. I did 20% on everything minus the windshield. I had them put a visor strip on the windshield. They ended up doing that at 5% (was not expecting that).

Yep. Tinted rear & rear sides 20% on my M4. Live in NJ and not legal to tint front or front sides, so didn't. Never give cops free probable cause.
Last two M3s had 35% tint, almost did that again but went with 20% and very happy with the result. Would not want any darker.

Legal 20% due to my wife's sensitivity to the sun.

Florida is 28% front, 15 back. I'll probably do 20% all around.
I've never once had an issue. I don't think it gives cops a reason to pull you over. I don't think they have the ability to see the difference from 20 to 28. Also, I've spoken to many cops and they say it's a bigger issue when your an older beat up car. New cars don't get many problems as long as your not in the 10 range or super reflective.

I normally go 20% all around because I like my "cave".....but I know some people prefer without.
So, not sure if you guys are familiar with 3M Crystalline but it is a nice compromise for those wanting UV protection and heat reduction without darkening or with minimal darkening. I have considered doing this on the windshield for those reasons. This is a good way to not darken my car any further but get the protection since so much heat comes through the windshield typically. A local tint shop has a demo set up and it is incredible how much heat it blocks. http://wot.motortrend.com/3ms-window...#ixzz1MH2xvMJD http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...omotive-Films/
