I did 20% all around, got pulled over for speeding, got a tint ticket, took it off then tried 35%. It's still dark enough but now you can see the m logo on the seats from the outside which is cool. 35% on the fronts only and 20% on rears.

I literally drove my car from the dealership to get tinted. Tinted the car with 10 miles on it. I did 35% all around. I do not like super dark tints, plus I have trouble seeing at night so any darker gives me troubles, especially in the rain

I'm curious what people are paying for their tint jobs. I'm thinking of doing 30% all around except for the front windshield, which I want to do 80% on.
This is for LLumar ceramic; I was quoted $285 for the windows, and $195 for the front. I'm not sure if in that $285 the front side windows were included, since that is illegal in California. I'll have to ask when I talk to him soon. Does this sound inline with what you guys paid for your ceramics? |

I plan to go at the darkest 35% all around when my M4 arrives. I will be having the front end wrapped and tint done at the same time. I have had varying levels of tint throughout the years and in my SUVs I like it darker but cars a little lighter. It may sound odd but if the tint is too dark on a car makes them feel smaller on the inside to me but on my SUVs it seems it is less of an issue.

Pennsylvania restricts us to a mere 70% which is essentially pointless to apply. Now many, many people obviously go beyond that here but I do wonder what one can get away with.
What is a fair number in PA that has not caused issue with police or yearly inspections? |

Just had picked up my car from having the ceramic tint and paint protection put on it yesterday. We went 45% all around, no windshield, and it cost us $350.00. I didn't want to get the windshield done because with my luck, driving it home, I would get a huge crack in the windshield and it would have to be replaced. We wanted to go a tad lighter than the legal limit in SC so the SO interior would show a tad better (at least, that's what the hubby wanted). The car definitely looks better with the tint on it.

Does anyone have pictures of different front/back tint? I've seen a few posts in this thread from folks who've done it but none of the pictures show a good side profile of the difference.
I'm in CA and have an infant who rides in the back, so I'd like to go darker but not get attention from cops for the side windows. I'm thinking 35% front/20% rear, or 50%/20%.

I've had 20% all around (except windshield) on my last four cars in Washington St. and have never been hassled by the police here. Even on my S2000 with an oem hardtop, wing spoiler, and black interior it hasn't been an issue. I'm planning on doing the same to my F80 when I get it in a month or so, though I'm a little concerned that running no front plate might end up getting me heat for both. If I'm already pulled over for a missing plate I feel like they are more likely add on a fine for the tint.

If u live in NYC, fellow members be very careful when tinting your vehicle. The window tint can't be lower than 70% on passenger vehicles. exemptions apply to some vehicles ie: the taxi's, limo's, or medically u can get an exemption with a doctors approval at DMV. as far as other states, each state vary on tint traffic offenses.
