Hey buddy I remember ya from the old V8less days.

I just got my Blizzaks LM-32 gonna mount them next weekend, went 255-40-19 on the stock M wheel.

Ran these same tires on a 435 best snow/ice tire money can buy, these are great for when we get chinooks/warmer weather and dont eat away like the softer ice tires such at the X-Ice which are excellent but get you a season and a half.

Friend of mine drove his F82 with these tires last winter and also said no problems as long as you werent sitting black ice at a stand still other wise your good to go.

Lethbridge...
Had our M4 since April. Getting door dings and seat emblems replaced in Calgary.
Hope to have it back by mid week.
No intention of driving it this winter, Lethbridge drivers are terrible!!!
I really hope the weather holds for a few more weeks...

I dont blame you. I parked mine (well I have insurance until the end of Oct). But I just picked up a White 4runner for winter.

Looks just like this. Bring it on winter!

I recently had the lithium ion battery replaced under warranty by BMW. These batteries cost approximately 1300$. If you fellas are planning to store your M3/4 in the winter it would be a good idea to buy a lit ion battery charger....that being said is it too early to start buying parts for next year ?

Dont they already come with the lithium one now?

My '11 X5 had the old battery and I was having issues. They replaced it with the new Lithium one under warranty and said they are moving to having the lithium in all cars moving forward, and this was a year and a bit ago now.

So I bought a Li-Lon battery charger for winter storage. My question is it better to leave the battery in the car and charge it over the winter or take it out. I bought it from crappy tire while it was on sale for $62. Sure beats ordering that Ctek one off Amazon for 120$ USD. [IMG][/IMG]

Lots of suggestions....

all comes down to whether you want performance bias or snow/ice grip bias.

I am in Calgary where (due to general mildness and Chinooks) most of the time the roads I am on are either bare or wet pavement as opposed to packed snow and ice. so I have performance bias winters, specifically Michelin PA4 (mounted on BBS RS 18"). Got through tunerworks here, who are great.

.....Edmonton, though, you might have more packed snow/ice so you might want a bit more grip. There are lots of people who like Hakkas or Nokians or, in between, I think Blizzak LMs or Michelin X-Ice

Thanks for the help. I am trying to stop myself from buying another car. I really want a 2016 Golf R as a winter beater, but in the same breathe I am just trying to convince myself to buy a good set of winter tires for the M4. Its a recession, but I keep on spending money like it is 2013.

Its likely better to keep the batter in the car because then your presets wont reset over winter.

I was told by my SA (they gave me a maintenance charger with the M) that if I let the battery fully die over winter the car resets to a pre-delivery setting and Id have to take to dealership to clear it. They told me to leave it plugged in all winter.

Im with you. That being said, the winters are so hard on a car that I decided to park it. Bought a 4runner instead

As for winter tires, I had Blizzak LM on my 335i in Edmonton and they were incredible. would strongly recommend.

Get the Golf R. That is a great car. Who knows you may even get a pretty good deal. I heard they are putting manual tranny for 2016.

I put the LM-32 on the M4 and so far so good, we've had limited snow and warm temps so obviously I havent really put them to the test but the few snow falls we had they stood up quite well.
