I just switched over from Audi but his shop has done everything from suspension swap to engine rebuilds. I think for spring install he was charging somewhere around 250-300 last time I was there. He's not BMW specific but I would trust them to do the work. They focus on VW/Audi but have worked on GT-Rs and M4s/ M3s with a good rep

Do it yourself! It's as easy as changing brake pads. Take your time with it and odds are you'll do less damage to your car than a shop that wants the car out as soon as possible. There are a couple DIY instructions on the forum.

We are very lucky to have so many great options here in the MD/DC/VA area.
RRT :: Performance, Tuning & Maintenance www.rrtptm.com FSC : Fairfax Service Center 2850 Prosperity Ave Fairfax, VA 22031 703-560-1700 703-641-0763 Both the above are good, have used both in the past, the former is more race oriented but you can't go wrong with either.

I think it's fair to put out that there are basically two big Audi shops in the area - Induktion and NGP. Both with their share of fanboys and haters. FWIW, I've heard my share of praise and complaints about both shops.

UPDATE: I took my car to Induktion Motorsports, had them install the Swift-R springs and MS spacers. And also install the "lightweight" front lip imported from Germany and the RW Carbon M-style rear CF diffuser... they did a great job on them as well and only charged a very fair one hr labor to install them both* The car looks absolutely amazing now and I will include pics for my swift-r spring write-up post as soon as I go back for the alignment in a few days to let the springs settle. I highly recommend them as their prices are very fair and they track prep BMW's, Audi's all the time. They're located right by BWI airport now. So really close to you "EALm4"

No worries, I actually want to thank YOU guys for making the various suggestions earlier. I either called or emailed most of them before deciding to go with Induktion Motorsports for the springs/spacer install. Induktion's price was the best by far and their service was perfect. This is NOT a big job for a shop which sets up track cars for road courses like them all the time.

sweet!!!! I'm holding out to see what the BMW M performance coilovers are like, and plan to get those, and also thinking about the LCI tail light retro fit, but it involves some coding. Glad to hear these guys can do it...

It's the same process as changing a wheel..I'm actually going up to Induktion next week most likely to have them put on some sport springs on the F83.

It's a little more involved than swapping out a wheel if you want to do it right. You have to take time to properly clean the hubs and apply antiseize/grease/etc.
