Garrett Powermax Intercooler for F8X

Looks like we have another quality option when it comes to charge air coolers for the F8X platform. Looks like there is some solid data points and research done on this page as well.

Good find and finally some real data to work with, not just speculation ( aftermarket= better).
Garrett is also big player so I expect great quality , fitment and solid performance.
What is the cost?

Wow, even the logo is tastefully applied. CSF cooler is hideous by comparison. At least Wagner has a cool logo.

Other manufacturers should take note of Garrett's presentation rather than just getting on forums and playing keyboard warrior by talking down on other manufacturers "inferior products" when they cant provide any data behind their own products.

$1700 - $1800 depending on vendor. Ecs tuning and IND have them up for sale now.

It is interesting that on run 1, the OEM intercooler makes more power. Maybe adaptations are taking place. Regardless, I think we have proof now that the OEM system is pretty darn good out of the box aside from the leaking issues that some have experienced.

It was my impression that leaking was the only practical reason people replaced them. If mine goes out when out of warranty, this puppy is definitely going in my car

My thoughts exactly, very well done.

Also goes to show this upgrade is absolutely overkill for the day to day drive unless plagued by the leaking OEM intercooler

The data they posted shows an increase of 13HP and 5 TQ with just the intercooler. it does not say whether the car is stock or not.

If car is tuned, the gains are going to be even more. Other than the stock one leaking, i think data is showing that the top mount is a useful upgrade

We offer this product our website as well

It's nice to finally have data on an intercooler swap. Been literally holding off on the mod until someone did some due diligence. Think it could be powdercoated/painted without diminishing any performance? To CSF's credit, they have some pretty awesome custom painted ones.

Well that data shows how good the oem intercooler really is, holding it’s own and out performing most of the time against one of the top turbo manufacturers in the world.

I take it this isn’t the same Garrett like Honeywell Garret who do turbos is it?..... as their cores are known to be excellent!

It is not true. Evolution of Speed uses a Bell core that was specifically designed for their intercooler. This includes the cast and billet version.

I do have the billet version on my car with a custom core that is not in any other of the EOS intercoolers available on the market. I personally do not have proven data on my core like how Garrett does in their marketing either. I just know it works fantastic and i would expect nothing less from EOS.

The Bell cores that originally comes with the EOS intercoolers are wonderful and there are plenty of high powered cars i know running it. I just wanted something different and with me not running WMI, i need every bit of cooling i can to keep up with the other big builds
