Can different tire profile front and rear work on track?
Track season coming up so I'm searching for a R compound tire upgrade, I'm currently really interested in Nankang AR-1. But it offered the spec I want with different profile front and rear, which are 275/35/18 and 295/30/18. I'm curious that if running different tire profile will hurt the performance on track or even might bring safety concerns.

You just need to look at the overall diameter. It might look a little strange to run 2 different profiles if you really stare at it, but the OD is what matters. I suggest you plug the numbers into a tire calculator and compare to whatever you're running now.

You would basically need to run dsc off with that setup and even then abs probably wouldn't be too happy either. That is 4.6% different than stock size comparison front to rear.
