F8x Brake Coding

What section is the Brake Coding for the F8x in?

I assume there has to be different values depending on rotor size etc.

Thanks.

ICM is also likely to have some brake parameters, but that's a guess.

One of the two also has a brake drying feature choice.

Neither, I would guess, are entirely responsible for the braking system.
Thanks

Anyone else supply any greater detail?

Trying to find what parameters are available for F8x (especially 380 rotors v 405 rotors) and where it's located.

So if someone changed rotor size for example, where is the info located.

Ditto different system.

For OEM parts, the coding is done through SA VO/HO-WORT on DSC (eg, 2NH M-Sport Brake & SPBR Sportbrake) on DSC. But, I do not know the exact FDL changes.

The difference between rotors in the F8x is one of steel (380mm) or ceramic (405mm) rotors. According to the OEM CCB document, only the actual brake booster unit is changed due to the increased coefficient friction of the ceramic rotors with the CCB option -the CCB brake booster unit has less pressure (less aggressive) than the steel rotors brake booster. Coding is only applicable with a hardware change and only for ceramic rotors.

The standard brake booster can handle a bigger front steel rotor.

Thanks.

I know in the F3x when change from OEM to MP BBK a coding change must be made which appears to have to do with size of rotor and ABS Control of these.

I am trying to find coding for 380mm rotors, which the F8x has.

The F30 M Performance BBK coding adjusts for new rotors size (up to 370mm) and fixed-piston calipers front/rear. There is no coding for anything above 370mm rotors so use the same M Performance coding for whatever you are doing.

OP, you can try adjusting these FDL Codes in DSC Module:

C_Variante_Bremsscheibe_vorne_e (Brake disc front)
C_Variante_Bremsattel_vorne_e (Brake caliper front)
C_Variante_Bremsscheibe_hinten_e (Brake disc rear)
C_Variante_Bremsattel_hinten_e (Brake caliper rear)

Thank you, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Do you happen to know possible values?

Or can any kind F8x members possibly look at their values and post w/ their equipment?

Hi There!

Apologies for bumping an old thread, but after a fair bit of searching, I was hoping that someone could confirm the coding changes for the 2NH / brake upgrade settings for their F80/82 that make the pedal feel better.

I've upgraded the brake system in my car and despite numerous bleeds/abs cycling, I have never got the same pedal feel back as I had when the car had the factory brakes.

Appreciate all the info in this thread so far (thanks shawnsheridan and Almaretto )!

There's a good thread here https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1633039&page=4 which talks about the benefit of coding in these changes, so I was keen to try this myself. So last night I spent a couple of hours on my car trying to find the right coding.

Firstly, my car's firmware is F020-16-11-502, not sure whether this matters.

I was able to code in the 2NH setting (in the SALAPA-Element section), and it was accepted correctly and showed up as M Sport Brake package.

I also went into "C_Variante_Bremsattel_vorne_e" in the DSC FDL and changed the setting from GG_P422 to GG_M2 (which I'm hoping refers to M2 Comp). The two other options in there look like Carbon Ceramic settings (eg. M4_GTS_CSIC).

I didn't really notice and drastic improvement in pedal feel, so I'm guessing I've not done something, or am missing a step.

If anyone has successfully done this, do you need to be on a later version of the car's firmware? Or is there a field I'm not entering correctly? I had a look at the other three as per Shawn's suggestion, but they don't appear to have any meaningful changes either (only turning from Ceramic to steel).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi bloke79 I am facing the same situation as you did. For M4 I dont see on CAFD the sizes/dimensions for the rotor/calipers see only GG or CSIC.
Did you have any additional progress? Anybody else could help?

2NH is Salapa element not a HO-WORT one.

Hi Kubax!
Great news as I will upgrade my M4 with the M Sport brakes…. without giving too much details, could you please tell us what this coding change ? It is this not already included in your GTS tuning package ?
Thx

does anyone know what to change to configure front brake+disk like m2c rotors for retrofit and let the original 1p caliper on the back?
