CS Suspension Coding
I contacted Alex to get the CS coding, I am curious to hear from others what their experience was with this upgrade? I have the stock EDC set up right now, along with KW HAS kit. Eventually will most likely go with B6 set up.
Just wondering how substantial the difference is. I have to hope it is better than stock. |

It smoothed out my ride quite a bit. Bumps weren’t so jarring and cornering performance was stabilized. It also depends how far down you’ve adjusted on the KWHAS as the spring rates are stiffer than factory.

I have a zcp and did the cs coding from apex. the car is more comfortable actually. sport is now what felt like comfort+ before. I have the dinan has which is a bit stiffer in the front than mphas.

Exactly...... I tried it and it sucked ass. Had him put it back to stock MY 4/14. Does not work on the older cars unless you want a cadillac

I really tried to like CS edc on base f80 but there was noticeably more squat/dive and felt softer. It did make the car easier to drive fast however. I switched back to stock.

'17 ZCP on MPHAS
Alex coded CS EDC for me, and I honestly couldn't tell any difference.

There's so many variables. The most recent zcp istep stiffened things up a bit. CS coding added some stiffness but the real reason why you do it is to get faster rebound so road bumps aren't as jarring. CS is more comfortable and compliant if you are on zcp dampers already.

I like the CS coding and I'm on B16 DDC.

My plan is to put in B6 Damptronic as soon as they become available in the US. That said I went out and put some miles on the car with the new suspension tune and it was noticeably better suspension set up.
I was crashing hard all the time on the front end, rebound was much better. |

I am also on B16 DDC and just had CS EDC (and a bunch of other stuff) coded today by kubax86. I've only gone on a 15 minute beer run since coding this afternoon, but the improvement in rebound control was very noticeable even on a short drive. A few dips in the road that were "bouncy" on the ZCP EDC were much smoother. Looking forward to longer drives on familiar roads to experience more of the difference, but my first impression would be that CS coding is a must-do with the B16 suspension.

I have ZCP dampers and Swift Spec-R springs on my non-comp, and I have it coded to CS spec.
To me it seemed less harsh before (was the original non-ZCP coding with the same hardware) but I only drove it that way for a few days. |

The CS coding will "work" with the base dampers but it won't be ideal. The software will be expecting a certain damper stiffness when it sends commands but it won't get what it expects because the dampers are softer. The software was also tuned assuming a stiffer rear bar, so the CS dampers don't do as much to control body roll in the rear and the steering is a bit off. You'll probably get some understeer as well.
Overall, It will be better in some respects but worse in others. Put some ZCP dampers and the ZCP rear bar on it and you'll have the full CS setup. It'll be much better to drive than a mish-mash set up with B6's and some HAS kit.

Subjectively, the CS coding has more rebound control, smoother compression control, and less roll damping in the rear because the CS has a stiffer bar so doesn't need the dampers to work as hard during cornering. Beyond that it's impossible to know objectively what the differences are in the software.

I am using the ZCP dampers and stock non-ZCP rear bar with CS coding, and I feel like the rear could use more roll stiffness. |

F80 M3 non ZCP. Have the swift springs and I also req Alex to code in CS EDC.
Comfort is nice. Its softer and I would say a step softer than comfort on stock. Sport is what I normally drive on. Can feel the road and its bearable. Sport+ much stiffer. 1 downside is it feels like it has slightly more bodyroll as you're turning corners. Then again, on most roads it doesn't really matter too much. |

As racer20 stated, the body roll is likely due to the softer rear sway bar on our non-ZCP cars. The CS coding for damping is based on a stiffer rear bar, and the roll damping will be softer because of that. I just ordered a ZCP rear bar on ebay for $100. I'll report back once I get it on the car and drive it. |

I initially ordered one from TMS for $250-something, but they were back-ordered. Googled the part number and found several for sale on ebay. Cancelled and got the hundred-dollar used one instead. Chess not checkers. I was a little skeptical at first, but I have received mine and it is the correct bar. |
