E85 Tune

Considering an E85 tune, but the only E85 station near my home is about a 10 minute drive and there is not one close to work.

What are the consequences of putting in 93 on and E85 tune if you can't flash your car back?

On the BM3 platform will it affect the car to go back and forth between E85 and 93 multiple times in the same week?

I bring 5 gallon gas tanks with me every time I fill up and keep spare E85 in the garage to last. The closest station is 20 minutes from me.

The car will not run properly if you don't have E85 on an E85 tune. It gets super choppy and basically undrivable. Get some VP fuel jugs and keep some E85 at the house. I was in the same situation and found that worked really well for me. I'd fill up 3-4 jugs and just top off as needed/when I was too lazy to drive to the station.

Is it safe to keep jugs of gasoline in the garage? Will my house explode? Asking for a friend.

Get a quality container that seals property (no plastic) and you’ll be fine.

Boost and timing targets for E85 are typically far too aggressive for 93 octane to handle. Additionally, you have to (roughly) flow 20-30% more ethanol vs. gasoline for the same power levels, meaning your fueling and a/f targets are going to be wrong. Bottom line, don't do it.

If you had an ethanol map and in an emergency situation *had* to put 93 octane in, you could limp the car home, she'd be running excessively rich (by a large margin) and you'd have to stay out of boost, but it could be done. Personally? I'd simply never let it happen. Find your stations, get a routine, keep 5-10 gallons at home, if you want to make it even easier pick yourself up a transfer pump to you're not juggling around a bunch of weight, or keep your device in the car for a simple flash to pump gas when necessary.

Ive had this situation unfortunately and drove home 20+ miles on 93. Just cruised at 60mph and did not accelerate at all.

The car is a daily - I think I will get the E85 tune but keep my flash ready to go when I need to switch to 93. I live in a building so don't really have an option to store tanks at home and not sure about storing it inside my place lol. I could keep some at work though.
