Question BMW M4 Convertible vs Cayman GTS?

Due to some circumstances, I am thinking of selling my 2018 M4 F83. Now I can go down in car to something still decent like a Porsche Cayman GTS which has the upgraded exhaust as standard which is very important to me.

I know the specs on paper are less than the M4 Convertible but has anyone driven the 2 cars? what can you say about the Cayman GTS? How is the acceleration form 0 to 60 MPH? does it put down power to the tarmac better than the M4 Convertible or worse?

Looking at a 2016 or 2015 Cayman GTS if that matters

981 has been covered in so many other threads.

I passed in 2015 and got f80 due to 981 being too slow for the price.

C7z is $60k these days. I'd get that for a newish 2 seats car

My opinion is that the Cayman is a better sports car in almost every way. Mainly with the steering, the sound, and the fact that it's a ground-up, dedicated mid engine sports car design vs the inherently more compromised 4-series convertible platform. If we do a little magazine racing, performance specs seem to be almost identical despite the Cayman being down on power, but the Porsche stirs the senses much more in the process.

Looks can always be argued, but the 981 with GTS interior looks far better inside and out.

On the M4's side, there seems to be this consensus that PDK is better than DCT, but I actually like DCT. Can be made to shift sharper and doesn't roll forward from a stop. And of course, pick the M4 if you need back seats.

Finally, I haven't driven the F83 CP so maybe someone can chime in on whether that closes the gap.

Good luck with your options .....I have a 981 Spyder and a convertible M4 which I use for my DD. Picked up the Spyder last summer which is 2800 lbs, and a really fun car to drive. It’s not the Cayman but similar platform, 375 hp in a fun car to drive and it’s naturally aspirated which is enjoyable. Both good cars, for me I didn’t adapt to the turbo too well in the M4 selling this summer.
