Maybe the 2017 ZCP will have anti-wrinkle leather side bolsters to accompany those track tested clear coated seat logos. Might be worth looking into waiting...... Damn....i'm just too impatient. I need to keep my priorities in check. People, enjoy your cars!

Just went outside to check mine out. The plastic covering was folding on my drivers side, so I removed it. I'll leave the plastic covering on passenger side until it starts to fold. I also have the windshield covered in the sun from the rays with the BMW sun reflector.

Even if the windows are tinted to block UV, that doesn't mean the heat won't still transfer through
Most likely from the heat though, especially if it's been left out on a hot day and then the AC is turned on, will most likely cause it to expand and shrink causing stress |

My M4 delivery is a while out yet... What type of material is the surface of the logo made of? Clear Vinyl? Colored plastic? Do you think a plastic protectant (Armour All, etc) have helped?

It looks like the plastic is transparent and the interior is colored/cracked. |

You should have your dealer replace them, be without your car for 2 days and then complain when the service guy scratches your door sills. The last place I want my car is the dealer. |

And then complain that the dealer drove your car .2 miles without your authorization. Another right of passage around these parts.

StunnaM3, I noticed exactly the same "cracking" and patchy appearance underneath the outer acrylic layer -within a few months of delivery of my M4 (October 2014). I love the car and I like the seat symbols but I intend to get the dealer to rectify. I don't think it is being overly focused on detail. An M3/M4 is a premium priced vehicle so our expectations should be high. That said I am confident the dealer will check with BMW and they will replace the symbol. It would be interesting to see how others have been dealt with by their dealer and if latest builds still have the problem.

Will BMW replace the cracking M badges on seats?
I remember a while ago someone posted about the badges on the front seats cracking. The same has happened to my car. I know I'm being OCD about this... But if BMW has fixed the issue, will they replace the parts or change them out for a small fee or under warranty?
I know that I'm pretty much the only person who will notice it since if a passenger gets in my car their back will be covering the badge, but when I'm driving alone and look to my passenger seat it just looks bad... The light-up function still works and looks great, but during the day it drives me nuts! Hahaha Picture reference for anyone wondering what I'm talking about.

Holy crap, one would think that the designers take into account that people will rub against the badges with their backs and that they use scratch free material, but I guess not. It seems that when my car gets deliverd that I have to fully wrap the car exterior and interior in Xpel foil after reading all these threads because with my OCD things like these will drive me nuts!

Although I'm not sure if it would have helped. It doesn't feel scratched from the outside at all... More like it's cracking from the inside...

I haven't checked mine but now I'm curious...
Surely BMW doesn't expect finishes on interior bits to come apart in the first few thousand miles. It's not a high wear-and-tear item like leather surface of steering wheel or finish of door handle.
