thank you all. I found the pads from this thread and used another DIY thread to install. I installed the pads myself a week ago and so far so good. No squeak and significantly less brake dust.

Will this fit on a 435i with the yellow MPerformance brake kit?

Thanks

Getting ready to order the pads and I notice some of you guys having trouble with only the rears. I don't notice much dust on my rear wheels. What about only installing pads on the front? I don't see how that affect anything?

For those that have had these for a while, did you observe any performance difference in wet/rain conditions?

Flooded out all of Princeton, NJ Saturday when it downpoured for a few hours.Took the car into the city (NY) and they seem no different than OEM to me : Others have mentioned diminished stopping slightly but it seems very similar. I know the brake dust is much less that's for certain, big time

Thanks... Did you take the car on the turnpike or other roads at highway speeds? The reason why I ask is because I've had issues with initial bite while driving at highway speeds in the rain with the OEM steel brakes, similar to what was discussed in the thread below, and was hoping this pad doesn't exacerbate the situation...

Yes we were on the highway. I haven't experienced the difference it seems the same to me. Occasionally a squeal first time it pulls out of the garage for a split second. No other noise out of mine and it's only once in a while rarely to be honest. Others have had a lot of noise but I haven't had that at all. For the $86 I think I paid for them they are well worth a try.

It's because the pads/rotors are cold. I get it on cold mornings and all it takes is one hard brake and they won't squeal again. Did you put any anti squeal on the backs of the pads? I never did but will when I swap my winter tires over soon.

Anyone here that have PowerStops hear clunking noises when stepping on brakes after switching from Forward to Reverse... and vise versa? Only hear the clunking after the first time I step the brake on each direction.

I hear this is common on the Pagids... but wondering if its the same on these PowerStops since Im experiencing it.

I do get the clunk as you described; going forward to reverse. But I also got it with the OEM pads on my F30 and F80.

Did mine last week and brake dust be gone. I put anti squeak and still get clunk first time. No big deal.

I finally got rid of rear noise when i found nice size rock stuck in the sheild.

I get the slight "clunk" noise too when reversing and then going forward the first time (usually it's only noticeable when I back out of the garage in the morning).

I've experienced this on all of the cars I've owned with Brembo calipers, and typically it's more pronounced with aftermarket pads (as the pad tolerances may be different than OEM, causing them to shift a bit more).

+1, pretty normal, I've had it on stock pads on some cars as well, but mostly like you I got it with aftermarket pads. The pins holding the pads aren't exactly tight fitting, so when the rotors / pads switch directions the pad will hit the pin in whichever direction, and when switching to reverse / forward again it'll reverse and hit the pin again, causing the noise.. keeping it in the same direction the entire time keeps the pad against the pin in that direction, so it doesn't "clunk" into it again.

Clunk....
It is the pads shifting for and aft in the calipers. The M4 is the worst I have had, the 128i was bad but the M235i had very little to none. It is the aftermarket pad backings being sloppier (under sized) than the factory pad backings

Changed all mine out yesterday, was a super simple swap and went smoothly except for one issue. Looks like one of the front pads has two L brackets up at the top instead of a R & L. It fits fine in the caliper, not sure if this could be an issue down the road for me as I'm unsure of the reason for these little silver things. Here's a pic, let me know if any of you guys have run into something similar and outcome.

Mine came off during the install and got worried at first. No issues so far but I would definetly prefer to have those 2 buttons long term. Here is a pic

I've had my front and rear pads on for 500 miles. As others have stated, there's hardly any dust, the initial bite is more predictable than stock, and I don't think there is any performance degradation for normal street driving.

At first, they only squeaked when going in reverse in the morning. Now, they squeak at just about every stop, especially under slower and more gradual braking.

I added anti-squeal gel to the backings, and I haven't heard any of the clunking noises that have been mentioned when changing directions. I bedded them when I first installed them, and can try that again I guess. Are there any other remedies I should try?

Mine squeak as well, i did not put any paste on but I only get it when they are super cold for the first few stops. I purchased a set of the Z23's to swap out the Z16's with which are supposed to be better. I will do the swap once the weather gets better (hopefully soon we got 18in of snow today) and report back
