Front Wheels rubbing
So I have an m3 competition with 763m wheels 265/35/19 285/30/20 ps4s tyres
With 12mm spacers front and back lowered on eibach springs. So from what I have been able to find is 12mm spacers is common so can’t understand why my front wheels are rubbing at 3/4 lock 3 o’clock side and 9 o’clock side rubbing arch liner is something wrong |

I know from recently purchasing tires that the Michelin PS4s in 265/35/19 have [9.6" tread width] across which is why I went with the Michelin PSS 265/35 19s (MO) [9.3" tread width]. I have custom offset wheels which negate the need for spacers and I do not rub at full lock. It also could be your alignment and camber settings, but I am just spit balling. Hope you figure it out.

Your best bet is to mark where it's rubbing and use a heat gun and some pressure to remold the liner as best you can.

I had this same issue on the same setup. It won't rub if you run 15mm. I ended up getting 255/35/19 for the fronts to address the issue.

My car is at stock, base-M3 ride height and I had the same rubbing in the same spots while running a 12mm spacer. Since the tire is taller, and the PS4S is wider, I suppose it was bound to happen. I think 12mm in front is common and people did not complain about rubbing for a long time because they were running PSS or another tire. I recently dropped the fronts down to a 10mm spacer. It alleviated most of the rubbing. On very specific circumstances I still can hear slight rubbing but it seems to be a lot less. I plan to log more miles and decide if this is a setup that works for me. I have 10mm spacers all-around and I think it still looks and feels quite good. |
