Slightly off center steering wheel

SO my new to me M4 vert has a slightly off center steering wheel. Had alignment done, and did not change wheel. Air pressure per tpms is the same as well (will double check manually today).

Thoughts?

did you tell the shop the steering wheel was off center before you had the alignment performed?

Go back to the shop and tell them the steering wheel is off center. Hopefully it was done not too long ago.

How far off center is acceptable? When my diff was replaced two weeks ago I got my car back and steering wheel was off center by about 10deg. I brought it back and they realigned and centered it, but it's still off by maybe a few millimeters at most. It only bugs me because I have the V2 wheel with a blue stripe, so it's obvious to me. The car drives perfectly, but if they can't get it right twice, I don't have confidence that they will get it right a third time.

It's not an exact science since your off center may be on center for someone else. You need to tell them where you want it to sit and make any incremental adjustments until you're happy.

I personally don't rely on a piece of fabric to determine where my center is. I look at the actual spokes and try to eyeball it to the dash itself. Centimeters? I'm millimeters picky.

I'm presuming they're adjusting the tie rods here. Good luck.

I meant millimeters, I'll have to correct that. Thanks for pointing that out. Centimeters would be like a football field to me. Well the spokes on the bottom are off center by a degree or two, so maybe I'll bring it back.

I go to a really good alignment shop. They actually have you sit in the car while they do the alignment and you center the wheel yourself.

I told the shop and its off by less than an inch (millimeters.....beats me). They gave me a report that said the toe up front was off by .01 left and .21 right.

Right tire was down 1lb on air versus left, added 2 lbs will see how she tracks today.

There is a software update that fixes this. I had someone on the forums apply it for me after doing some googling.

I had this done now my steering wheel is normal and has been completely normal.
