Thoughts on this M4 deal?
Hi all,
I have been leasing for many years but decided to purchase a 4-series for a low mileage summer car. I was originally set on a 435, but after driving the M4 today, I have decided this is the way to go. Pictures and details below. 2017 BMW M4 6,500 miles Mineral gray w/sonoma beige merino leather -Carbon fiber trim -Double-Clutch Transmission -Executive Package -Drivers Assistance Plus Package -Upgraded BMW 19" wheels -Lighting package -Apple Car play Price $53,000. Insanely superb condition. Literally looks new. I asked the dealer for some more off and he said they recently lowered it $3K which I know is true because the price wasn't even updated on the sticker yet inside the car. What are your thoughts on this? I think it's a fair price considering how low the mileage is. Please share your feedback. |

Seriously, buy it now! That is a great deal!
To give you some context, we bought our 2016 SO F83 two months ago with 35K miles for $47K. The dealer wouldn't go any lower than that. The one you're interested in is one year newer (although not a convertible) but has crazy low miles. Good luck! |

CPO or non-CPO? Have you seen the vehicle history report and service history? Presumably no accidents?

Some folks are obsessed with the Comp pack like it’s the holy grail of ///M’s. At this price that’s an amazing deal. Make sure you check the Carfax and do a complete visual inspection for any collision damage. If it all checks out, buy it.

I would jump on it.
* You like spec (colors/options) * You liked how it performed when you test drove it * 6,500 miles and ample warranty left * You are happy with price (and that is the only opinion that counts) |

I am not a fan of the interior color either, but if you like it I love it.
if this is the car you want, you can afford it and has all the must haves; than I really do not see what you are agonizing over it. Just tell the dealer you will purchase but you won't go over $50,000.00 (trust me there is always room). if they lower it even $500.00 dollars that is money saved. just my $.02

I'd probe on the non-CPO part of this. Why is that? Would they be willing to make it a CPO? It obviously reduces their liability, but if it feels like they are unwilling to consider it, that would be a major red flag in my mind. Remember they have much more information than you do.
If you get good answers to the CPO question, I think the deal is good as long as you understand that it might be a little harder to sell down the road and might lose a little more value given it doesn't have the competition package - some folks really care about having that. |

OP is probably considering buying from a non-BMW dealer who either took it as a trade or bought it at auction. It would seem odd for a BMW dealer to not CPO if it is at a BMW dealer. So if this car is being sold by a BMW dealer, I agree to question why it wasn't CPO'd (and push to include CPO without changing price to pick up the extra warranty coverage).
